My husband and I have been married 31+ years and both love to cook for family and friends. My 3 children, friends and family have always said we should open our own restaurant. All anyone has to do is compliment my cooking to make my day complete. I love to learn new things and reinvent old ones. I am a Registered Nurse working in the happiest of all nursing fields, Labor and Delivery. I got my nickname, Cowpatti, from several loving nieces and nephews. It is very special to me.
My favorite things to cook
Downhome country cooking is my favorite thing to cook, omitting fried and greasy foods. I will try any recipe once and donot necessarily care for gourmet.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Family and friends gathering every year in the kitchen, the warmest spot in the house, to prepare holiday meals.
My cooking triumphs
I have made up several of my own recipes that my family raves about. I have many family and friends who come to my home just to see whats for supper. So, I almost always make extra. I have a knack for eating something from a restaurant and determining the ingredients without asking for the recipe (to make at home myself).
My cooking tragedies
Too many to name. Particularly untried recipes that no one liked. Once my daughter and I made stuffed bell peppers and as I was bending over to get them out of the oven, she bent over to pick something up behind me and we both bumped butts. The bell peppers went flying across the floor and we ate restaurant chicken that night.
