Although I don't always have time to prepare a big meal, I always enjoy cooking. I like to fix foods that my husband and our family (including a picky three year old) will enjoy. I constantly try new dishes and new methods to prepare foods we like. I worked as a waitress for several years in the past at several different restaurants, which gave me a good basis to build my cooking skills on.
My favorite things to cook
I really like to cook anything that other people enjoy, because that's the best part. I also like to try cooking different ethnic dishes. Also, cooking on the grill is my favorite!
My favorite family cooking traditions
I come from a 'dining out' family although my grandmother did cook. When I left home, my cooking skills were most basic, so every little thing I've learned has been important to me. I consider myself an intermediate cook, and hope that one day my grandchildren will look forward to eating dinner at my house, like I always have with my grandmother.
My cooking triumphs
Everything I cook is a triumph. ;)
My cooking tragedies
Too many to list. My favorite was my meatloaf that came out the consistency of canned dog food. It didn't taste too bad, but the texture made it impossible to eat.
