Eggnog Quick Bread

Made this just before Christmas and got some mixed reviews. Those that love eggnog in my famly devoured it; others complained that it was too heavy. I think if you're an eggnog fan you'll enjoy it.

Bread and Celery Stuffing

This was so easy and delicious! There were no leftovers. I did make one change and added a pound of maple sausage (the breakfast links) to the mix. Great stuffing!!

Seven Layer Taco Dip

Great dip! I used a can of spicy refried beans for a little more zip and eliminated the green peppers. Everyone enjoyed it.

Baked Potato Soup I

I am a huge fan of anything w/potatoes, but this didn't thrill me at all. My family liked it, but perhaps they just didn't want to hurt my feelings (there were leftovers that I had to discard). I followed the recipe as written, and kept tasting the soup to see if I needed to adjust and improve the flavors. The final product was bland. I won't make this again.

Bacon Turnip Mash

Tried this for Thanksgiving, but didn't really care for it. Thought the bacon flavor would remove the bitterness of the turnip and make it more flavorful. Didn't happen in my case.

Caramel Apple Dip

Everyone loved this! Topped it off with pecan bits and served it with pretzel stix and apple slices. I used Fuji apples because I thought they wouldn't brown as quickly (read that somewhere), but they did, so most of my guests went with the pretzel stix. How do you keep apple slices from browning? Anyway - this was a fantastic dip!

Lemon Horseradish New Potatoes

I'm so glad I tried this. I served it with a pork roast and everyone loved the meal. Next time I'l try parboiling the potatoes, because otherwise they do take more than an hour in the oven.

Brie Cheese Appetizer

Made this recently and everyone gobbled it up! I added the shaved almonds per other reviews. It's best when it cools down and is almost room temperature. At that point you can really taste the wonderful flavors. Great recipe!

Chrissy's Sweet 'n' Sour Tomato Salad

I really like this recipe and have made it several times. It's a great bbq sidedish. As for reviewers' complaints about the sweetness - yes, it's sweet, so what? It's not like the title and the ingredients didn't give you a huge heads up.
