About this Cook
I've always enjoyed cooking, my grandma and father both taught me to really appreciate great fresh ingredients. I love trying new things and love mexican and Thai food. Mu husband is Australian and it's been pretty interesting trying to follow recipies when a fair bit of ingredients aren't sold - it's called improvise!
My favorite things to cook
Mexican, I also love to bake, I just made a great banana bread the other day- from this site of course. I really try to make healthy choice in my everyday cooking, but everything is fine in moderation.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every Christmas we have the annual girls christmas cookoff, with three generations of women in my family getting together to bake goodies for an entire delicious calorie laden day.
My cooking triumphs
Cooking an entire Thankgiving feast by myself when my exboyfriend was given a turkey from his employer.
My cooking tragedies
On one of my very first dates way back when, I decided to try an exotic new recipe- sure to impress. I was cooking for my date and the rest of my family. I can't exactley recall what I made - it involved a mexican dish with kidney beans, cilantro, and chicken but the chicken turned out purple and tasted like big foots breath, it was just terrible. My entire family crucified me for ages for that one.

Yakisoba Chicken
This is an awesome recipe, and has become a family favorite! Instead of chile paste, I use a mild red curry paste, and can't imagine making it without it. This recipe is quick, healthy, makes great leftovers and delicious! Thanks for the recipe.

Bow Tie Lemon Chicken
Thanks so much for this recipie. It sounded a little different, but it turned out really lovely. Next time I might add some sliced red pepper for even more veggies, but it was quick, healthy and very good! The only change I made was seasoning the chicken with lemmon/pepper seasoning that had salt - and omitting the salt later. Cheers!

Erin's Indonesian Chicken
I've tried a fair few stir fry recipes from this website, and this one had been by far the best. I added chopped water chestnuts, red peppers, and low fat chunky PB to make it a bit healthier. This was great- thanks for the recipe!
