Fried Cornmeal Mush

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2011
Just like grandpa used to make EXCEPT for truly southern style mush you start out by frying bacon, LOTS of bacon and you fry your mush in the bacon grease...ohhhhhh HEAVENLY!

Chicken Pot Pie I

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2009
Not the Best I have ever had but certanly the EASIEST!! All in all it was quite good, did I mention EASY!?!?! WOW!! The only thing I did differently was poach the chicken beforehand in chicken stock, crushed red pepper flake, salt, pepper and garlic. It added to the all over flavor and kept the chicken juicy. Next time I think I will use dark meat for more flavor in the future. All in all GREAT QUICK little dinner served with salad. OH and to the past reviewers complaining that the botton crust didnt bake, heres a little trick for you. While the over is heating place a cookie sheet in the oven (the darker the better) this will not only catch any drippings from the pie but also help cook the bottom faster! Use this with ANY pie recipie!

Ham Broccoli Braid

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2007
A very easy and different way to prepare ham leftovers! I did tweek this recipe a bit based on user reviews. I used cheddar (thats what I had on hand) and because some users felt that it was a bit dry I tossed a half a can of cream of chicken soup in the mix for a nice creamy consistancy. I also found that my dough didn't cook all the way through so I would suggest a longer cooking time. Bake on a silicone or silipat liner to prevent the bottom being burned with the longer cook time. Other than that it way great. We all really liked it, it actually tasted like a homemade Hot Pocket!!

Fusion Chili

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2007
WOW! This is some AWESOME chili! I did make a few changes to it though because I couldn't fins come ingredients. Instead of ancho chilis (believe it or not I couldn't find em) I used canned chipotle peppers, I have used them in other dishes and it ads a great smokey flavor as well as heat. I also used beer to deglaze the pan instead of wine, I agree with the other user that wine has no business in chili =) I plan on making this again for football sunday but this time I am armed with the ancho chilis and am excited about how its going to turn out! Thanks AGAIN for a great recipie!!

Roasted New Red Potatoes

Reviewed: May 8, 2007
WOW!! This was amazing as it was easy! I improvised alot just using what I had on hand. Garlic infused olive oil, kosher salt, fresh ground black pepper, tyme and oregeno. I did cut them into smaller bites as one user had suggested and tossed in some onions. Only one change if you are going to use onions (and you should...YUMMY) put them in about 10 min before taking the potatoes out or else they will just be crunchy and burnt. The high heat is a MUST and everything came out PERFECT!!!

Slow-Cooker Chicken Tortilla Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2007
WOW!!! Easy and tasty I added black beans and omited the water for a heartier soup, also added more chili powder and hot sauce for a KICK!! My guy LOVED it and so did I. I put the chicken in raw and shreded it an hour before serving, made easier when you use two forks.

S'mores

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2005
You want to REALLY jazz up your S'more? Use different chocolates and for that final touch wrap your finished S'more in tin foil and toss onto some hot coals from the fire, wait a 2-3 min or until the chocolate is nice and soft. Talk about a GOOEY treat!!!
