I love to eat, which was the driving force behind my interest in cooking. I am a full-time working mom of two young sons. My husband and I have a few differences in tastes (he doesn't like seafood or mushrooms - two of my FAVORITES!) but we've pushed each other to try new things. :)
My favorite things to cook
I love comfort food. There is nothing better than a roast chicken dinner! I also love to bake - everything from cakes to cookies to breads (sadly, I have yet to truly master a pie).
My favorite family cooking traditions
I grew up in a family of great cooks, and my uncle is an accomplished chef in Denver. Food has been the center of my family for as long as I can remember.
I love Christmas meals - egg strata for brunch, standing rib roast for dinner...and all the delicious cookies my sons and I make together.
My cooking triumphs
I do make a mean chocolate eggnog pie - the ONLY pie I can make well. My family loves it. I've submitted it but I don't think it's been made public yet.
My cooking tragedies
I put a pot roast in the oven with a glass lid on...I don't think I'll ever live it down.
