Chocolate Banana Bread

Very moist and delicious! Use real butter instead of margarine because it's so much better for you. It was so good! It would probably be very good with walnuts in it too.

Whole Wheat Beer Bread

I did not care for this recipe. Dry and very very bland. We're not picky eaters at all, but we eventually had to just throw the whole loaf away because we just couldn't eat it anymore!

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2008
Seriously the best sugar cookie recipe ever!! The dough was soooo easy to work with. My boys (ages 3 and 6) had no problems with it when we made these together. And the flavor was unbelievably good. Soft, buttery goodness! I was also pleased that these didn't "spread" while baking like other cut-out cookies do, so they kept their shapes well. This is the recipe I've been looking for.

Turkey Pot Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2008
Really REALLY good!!!! I used up the last of our leftover Thanksgiving turkey and everyone loved it! The only change I made was to bake the bottom pie crust for about 5-10 minutes first just to make sure it wouldn't be soggy. I may have to roast a turkey again just so I can have this. :) (or maybe I'll use a chicken next time....)

Honey Corn Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2008
Wow!! This is the cornbread recipe I've been looking for! The flavor is outstanding! Hearty, very very moist, and lightly sweet. The top got a little dark, but the inside was still so moist and delicious! One change I made--I didn't have half and half, so I substituted evaporated milk for it. This will be my standard recipe from now on.

Beer Margaritas

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2008
I wish I could give this one 10 stars!! The best margarita ever! Be sure and use good tequila and beer. I used Jose Cuervo Gold tequila and Corona Extra for the beer. I followed the advice of other reviewers and substituted 12oz. of sprite for the water. I made a triple batch for a party and it was the hit of the party!

Honey Coconut Salmon

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2008
I almost gave this recipe 4 stars because it was pretty sweet for my taste, BUT THEN I had the leftovers on top of my spinach salad the next day and it was absolutely amazing!! I followed the advice of other reviewers and cut the amount of butter, honey, and brown sugar in half. You definitely don't need the full amounts!

Crunchy Coconut and Lime Burgers

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2008
Very different and good! I used the regular sweetened coconut since I can never find unsweetened. I thought that 1 cup of mayo for 4 burgers seemed like an awful lot, so I decreased the amount to 1/2 cup, and I also increased the amount of cream of coconut mixed with it for more flavor. We loved the sweet crunchy coconut topping! If you don't like coconut, you won't like this recipe, but if you do, go for it!

Marinated Orange Roughy

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2008
I was worried that the ketchup in this recipe might be overpowering for a mild fish like orange roughy, but the flavor was great! I used regular soy sauce instead of low-sodium and I didn't bother with the sesame seeds. This is my new favorite way to have orange roughy.

Frogmore Stew

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2008
Definitely 5 stars!! I added the corn much earlier that the recipe said to because I think corn needs much longer to cook. (I put it in about 10 minues into the boiling process). I would also like to warn people not to overcook the shrimp! It may cook much more quickly than 5 minutes, and if you aren't careful, you'll end up with tough rubbery shrimp. Yuck! We ate this the traditional way--poured out onto the table (usually covered with newspapers) served with butter and eaten with bare hands! It had a great flavor and was lots of fun! And the only dish to wash was the pot we boiled it in!

McCormick's Dilly Potato Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2008
This was a great potato salad recipe. My husband doesn't like the traditional mayo-based potato salads, so this was great! The only change I would make is doubling the amount of green beans. There weren't very many at all. A great light side-dish to a summer barbeque!

No Bake Cookies V

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2008
This was the best no-bake cookie recipe I've ever tried! The only difference is that I used creamy peanut butter instead of crunchy because that's what I had. Ignore the other reviewers that say to change a bunch of things. Don't tamper with perfection!

Chewy Granola Bars

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2008
This recipe was ok. The flavor was pretty good, but as other reviewers have stated, these do not hold together well and are very crumbly. In my opinion, these are just a very high-calorie cookie. I'll keep looking. Sorry.

Peanut Butter Vegetable Chicken Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2008
I was disappointed in this recipe. I thought it was just ok. I guess I was expecting a thicker, heartier soup, but found it to be very bland and watery. I even doubled the amount of peanut butter, but it didn't help. I thought that maybe it would be better the second day, but I found it just as bland and watery then as well. My family wasn't impressed either. I won't be making this one again. Sorry.

Actually Delicious Turkey Burgers

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2007
Really really good! They were even better than I expected them to be. I did make a few minor changes, though. I used two whole eggs and a lot more bread crumbs. (maybe 1/2 c.) I also added 1 tsp. seasoning salt, 2 Tbs. Worcestershire sauce, and 1 Tbs. soy sauce. (I followed another person's recommendations) My husband and kids raved about them!

Sour Cream Gooseberry Pie

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2007
Very good pie! I used 2 cups of gooseberries because that was what I had, and let's face it, what was I going to do with extra gooseberries? So it was a little more tart than it would have otherwise been, but it was perfect for us. Does anyone know why the berries in the picture are purple? All the gooseberries I've ever seen have been green.

Diego's Special Beef Stew

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2007
Very good, but the spices were very overpowering. I won't add nearly as much next time. Also, I thickened it during the last few minutes with a little bit of cornstarch and cold water. Overall, it's a great crockpot recipe!

Pumpkin Casserole

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2006
YUM YUM YUM! Very good and as easy as they come! I thought it was going to be a little too sweet for a side dish, but it wasn't. It was perfect! I used fresh baked pumpkin and instead of the 1/2c. self-rising flour, I used: 1/2c. all purpose flour plus 1/2 tsp. baking powder, 1/4 tsp. salt, and 1/8 tsp. baking soda as my Better Homes cookbook directed. We will be enjoying this many times again!
