Gulliver's Cream Corn
This was served at Gulliver's Restaurant in Irvine by the OC Airport back in the early 70's and was published in a local magazine back then. I cut it out and have been making it off and on when I'm not obsessing about cholesterol and calories. It is THE BEST creamed corn recipe you will EVER try. Variation is to put the finished corn in a heat proof casserole, sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and place under a broiler until evently browned. Just makes it a little prettier, but it gets messy quick when everybody digs in!!!!! Your casserole will get licked clean.

Olive Cheese Melts
My mother called these "poo poos" and they were a family favorite since the 60's. My adult kids still beg for them and I can't make them fast enough. Easy to make and a real crowd pleaser. Can you put in too much curry? I never have....yummy. I'm going to make some right now!

Italian Spinach Sausage Pie
I cut a very similar recipe out of the LA times in the early 70's and it quickly became a family and neighborhood favorite. Called then "Mrs. C's Sausage and Spinach Pie" my kids would ask me to make it for dinner and then all their friends would come too. To me it's not a Christmas type dish, but every family has it's traditions. I do like to serve it with cranberry sauce because I like the contrast with the spinach and cheese. It is rich and dense. My husband and I would get tired of it if we tried to eat it all ourselves, so we have some and then it gets recycled into lunches for the grandkids. It keeps and reheats very well. My 2 year old grandson hangs on the refrigerator and calls for "pinch pie." I use sweet Italian sausage, a 16 oz mozzarella cheese shredded and 2/3 C ricotta cheese (1/2 of a 16 oz container).
