About this Cook
I've always liked to cook. I think there's a picture of me as a child with a kitchen chair pulled up to the stove, with me stand on it with a spatula in hand scambling eggs in the skillet. I have friends that come over once a week for new recipe night and to watch movies.
My favorite things to cook
Steak, Chicken, Wild Game, Cakes and Cookies. I guess I'm still a country kid at heart ... I also do Casseroles as comfort food.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Kolachy's is the main one in my family, I used to help my grandmother in the kitchen. It was one of my most fond memories.
My cooking triumphs
A fantastic Seafood Lasanga and a Layered Chocolate-Raspberry Cake that is to die for.
My cooking tragedies
There was an incident when I was young not realizing that a turkey needs to be basted in butter or grease to get the brown color. I had a VERY WHITE turkey once.

BB's Chicken
This is an easy and tasty dinner. You do need to season the chicken a bit with some poultry seasoning and garlic. Just don't add sallt. The stuffing makes it saty enough. Overall a very good recipe.

Beef Tenderloin in a Port Shiitake Reduction
This really is a good recipe, I've made it several times now and It's now on a regular rotation at the house. I've substituted stew meat instead of tenderloin in the past and it has come out just fine. It's the flavor that really works for this.

Rhubarb-Pineapple Jam
This tastes just like the jam my grandmother would make when I was growing up. I've made it and passed out several jars. It was a hit. Thanks for the nice reminder of growing up.
