About this Cook
I am a 28 year old living with my "better" half, and 2 lovely dogs. I have enjoyed cooking ever since I was able to reach the stove, I enjoyed learning from and watching my mother cook& bake..it was one of her real joys in life to create something in the kitchen and watch us all enjoy it that brought happiness in her short life, and I believe that has been passed on to me!
My favorite things to cook
Cakes, Cookies, Desserts are my specialty but I perfer anything "downhome, southern style"
My favorite family cooking traditions
always always have at least 1 3 course meal during the day...and start out with a good breakfast, gravy included! *lol*
My cooking triumphs
I recently baked a Honey Bun cake, though at first it was difficult * the cake itself very thick and hard t work with* but the end result was gone in an hr! I was soooooo proud of ME!!
My cooking tragedies
last Easter I was boiling eggs to make a potato salad, I put them on boiling *on medium high* got busy talking to my grandmother on the phone forgot about the eggs and all of a sudden I hear a loud pop and sizzling I go.. "OH NO MY EGGS" I hung up on my gramma ran to the kitchen and boy was I surprised to see the pan my eggs were in had burnt the red coloring of it off.. of course the pan was dry as could be and 2 out of the 6 eggs had busted, but in the end I think about that now and laugh, and ALWAYS watch my eggs if they need to be hardboiled * lol*

Chili Rick's
I made this chili awhile back when I was searching for a different "type" of chili recipe than my traditional. With the addition of the sausage & bacon with the ground beef..this chili is off the charts delicious! I served mine with home made cornbread and topped off with a mild cheddar cheese.. trust me with so much flavor you only need a mild cheese. It's flavorful and filling..in fact, it made so much, that I have leftovers in the freezer! A true 5-star recipe.

Spicy Chicken Enchiladas
These were absolutely delish! I made them on Monday evening for my boyfriend and myself & they were just wonderful! I made enough to be able to have leftovers the next day and they were just as good the next day and I am not a leftovers kinda person! I did make one small adjustment I didn't use the tomato's with the green chili for fear with the jalapeno already in the recipe that it would be too hot, but other than that I didn't change a thing! WONDERFUL!!!

Banana Pudding IV
This was delicious! I made it as a dessert to compliment my Easter feast. Let me tell ya, I just had ANOTHER bowl of it, and its just spectacular the longer it sits in the fridge! I did however make a few changes as requested in the other reviews. I used 1- 3 oz box of french vanilla jell-o & 1/2 box banana cream jell-o, 1/2 the can of sweet milk, 2 cups of milk and other than that I followed the recipe. I made a huge bowl full of this creamy, sweet goodness and I will definitely make it again in the future! YUM-O-RIOUS!!
