About this Cook
I'm a 27yr old nurse working in paediatric neurology. I live with my husband Scott and we have 2 cats and a dog, no kids yet. I used to work as a nanny. I love to cook and bake and have been doing so from a very young age. My Mum is sure that if I wasn't a nurse I should have been a chef or baker (I believe she still thinks that would be better!). In my perfect world I would be a stay at home mum.
My favorite things to cook
I don't know that I have any favorites, I think I most often make other peoples favorites.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My favorite tradition is that there is no discrimination in the kitchen, everyone learns and everyone cooks. The other is making cooking normal. From tiny wee things we were in the kitchen when mum or dad was cooking and as soon as we were old enough we helped. The kitchen was never this magical evil place that mum vanished into and food + grumpy tired mum came out of.
My cooking triumphs
Ihave to say my cakes are usually my best bit of baking, and most of my kitchen experiments turn out well.
My cooking tragedies
When my cooking experiments don't work.

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast
I love it so simple and tasty. Left-overs make great sandwiches but good luck having any left over! I rub the roast with olive oil, salt, pepper and rosemary then sear it before putting it in the slow cooker. If you are feeling super lazy throw in a few roughly chopped root veges as well, come dinner time just add some mashed potato to serve.

Easy Chicken Korma
Loved It. Making it again tonight. Hubby is thrilled. As I'm on WW's I'll trim back the oil and cut the butter but thats it! mmmmmmmmm yummy.

Mom's Carrot Cake
Everyone loved the flavour and texture. I found that it needed to cook longer than the reccomended time. As with other bakers I added extra spices. Put some of the mix into large muffin tins lined with the paper cups hubby loved his "Giant Carrot Cupcakes"
