Me and my husband, John
Happy Birthday
My husband John and I
About this Cook
I'm 23 years old, been married for three years, and I work as a court reporter! My mom and I love to cook, but baking is our specialty. We've had a small baking business at the holidays every year, and everyone starts calling at Halloween asking for their goodies! One day we would like to have our own dessert shop with cakes, cookies, pastries, and a sugar-free line of goodies! My crazy dream is to have a cooking show one day for low and sugar-free desserts! It may never happen, but I can dream!
My favorite things to cook
Dessert!!! I'm an awesome baker, and a good cook. I like to experiment with Splenda in my baking (my Splenda sugar cookies are awesome!) Most of the women in my family are diabetic, so it's nice to have something sweet for them at get togethers.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Holidays! Every holiday is a thanksgiving feast at my mom's house and it just isn't the same if we're not home to enjoy it! The best part is making goodie baskets for friends; most of the treats are gone before we can get them in the bag! Shame on dad!
My cooking triumphs
My first fondant cake wasn't a flop, it was better than I had hoped! For my husband's 23rd birthday I made a stacked 3-tier cake; the top was lemon, the middle strawberry, and the bottom chocolate. It tasted really good! I used the buttercream fondant recipe here on AllRecipes.com.
My cooking tragedies
For Easter this year I made an Easter basket cake. I was sick and didn't know it when I prepared the cake and everyone that ate it got sick too. I was so ashamed.

Butterscotch Blondies
Wow. These are really good. And really addicting. Be forewarned!

Wonton Wrappers
These turned out great! I rolled them out slightly thicker than you normally would and used them in homemade ravioli.

Oven-Barbecued Pork Chops
This was really good. I was out of chili powder, so I omitted that, but even without it my husband said it was spicy (he likes spicy things,) so I might cut the pepper in half. I might even take this recipe and use it on other things, not sure what though. We really liked this, and even my picky two-year old ate a good helping of it.
