LIVES UP TO THE TITLE.i COOK THE RICE WHEN I AM HAVING RICE FOR A VEGETABLE.I SAVE THE AMT. FOR THE NEXT DAY.USING HALF SUGAR SUBSTITUTE AND LIQUID HONEY,CANNED SKIM MILK FOR HALF OF THE MILK NEEDED LENDS TO A HEALTHIER DESSERT FOR THE WEIGHT CONSCIOUS WITHOUT AFFECTING THE FLAVOR OR TEXTURE.2MIN. I FIND IS NOT LONG ENOUGH FOR THE RAISINS TO PLUMP.I SIMMER THEM IN THE MILK FROM THE BEGINNING.GOOD FOR ANY TYPE MEAL,FANCY OR CASUAL.

Quick to make and easy too.Make when everything else is planned.Needs close watching and frequent stirring.use a wisk to prevent lumps.Cook on lowest temperture or use a double boiler to prevent scortching.I used sugar replacement and low fat cool whip.Healthier version

Streusel Apple Coffeecake

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2006
An excellent dessert or for coffee time.Ireduced the brown sugar by1/3 and replaced it with brown sugar substitute.Granny Smith wasn't there today so I used Macs.A little too moist for the bottom layer. For best time use I suggest prepping your apples and the streusel mix ahead of time.Took me longer than 30min. to do for the first time.An excellent choice for a winter's day. I will make again.
