I really like to focus on making desserts (though I don't have much of an opportunity because I don't have anyone to bake for and I certainly can't eat it all myself). Every Christmas, my mother and I used to bake about 30 dozen cookies, of all different kinds. We'd put some of them in tins to give to friends and family, but the rest went to the local hospital for the patients who had to stay their over the holiday. I make excellent cream puffs. Mainly I fill them with different flavors of whipped cream (including lemon and strawberry). I haven't had too much success with pastry (particularly my first attempt at apple dumplings).
