Famous Pork Chops

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2009
I followed the recipe to the T and the porkchops were dry, bland and the cracker coating was mushy :O(

Potato, Broccoli and Cheese Soup

Flavor was good, but consistency was blah. A little too watery for me. I added some milk and that helped a little.

Corn and Chicken Chowder

Very good. I didn't have ham so it was missing that salty ham flavor but I used half and half instead of skim milk to make up for the flavor and make it richer. I also omitted the thyme as we don't care for it. Will try with ham as recommended next time!

Mock Lobster

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2009
Very good! I wouldn't change a thing. Did taste a lot like lobster! So cool! I used breasts and breast tenderloins and the tenderloins came out moister and like more of a lobster consistency.

Maria's Rice

Pretty good. Followed recipe and next time would maybe add some mushrooms or some Gruyere cheese at the end. After removing the cover it started to get dry and edges got crunchy so I added some more broth and recovered for the rest of the cooking time. And, I would say it serves 4-5 people. Double if you have more than 4.

American Chop Suey II

We grew up eating this too..its a kid favorite and the adults love it! We never included the onions because of picky eaters but the adults would sprinkle with Nature's Seasons brand seasoning. Quick, easy and hearty!

Baked Potato Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2008
Better than some restaurant versions! I didn't have any potatoes that were already baked so I diced raw ones and boiled on low in the cream/broth for 25-30 min until the potatoes were cooked through. I also didn't have any basil but I will try it with that next time!

Peanut Butter Haystacks

This is how I like haystacks! So good with the butterscotch, peanutbutter and peanuts instead of mini marshmallows!

Made a nice tasting "teriyaki" flavored marinade but never carmelized and really didn't come out how its described in the recipe. :o(

Acorn Squash

Mde this last night...delicious! I microwaved the halves flesh side down in a little water for 6 minutes to cut down on the baking time (was in a bit of a hurry). Then filled with butter, sugar, sprink of salt and baked another 10 min right side up.

City Chicken

Reviewed: May 18, 2007
I have never had city chicken before so I had nothing to compare the end result to, but I think it turned out very good. Very tender and had great flavor. My boyfriend compared it to a smothered porkchop and loved it over white rice.

Four Cheese Macaroni

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2006
I made this for Thanksgiving and it was a hit. I also ommited the eggs and doubled the cheese as suggested. And, I layered the macaroni mixture with additional layers of shredded cheese and topped with a bread crumb/melted butter mixture before baking. Very tasty!

Great & Easy recipe. The bbq sauce was a little burnt so next time I will add half way through or try a thinner sauce.

Pecan Pie

Flavor was incredible. But, I had the same problem with the filling that others had. It was soupy and ran out of the pie when it was cut into. Everyone still ate it and said it had a good flavor but it would have been nice if it would have came out right.

Potato Casserole IV

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2005
Great flavor but I couldn't get the potatoes to cook through. After 45 minutes they were still pretty hard. I cooked for another 20 minutes and they were still hard. I tried again with shredded potatoes and still couldn't get the potatoes to cook through. Any suggestions?
