We are a blended family to the extreme- my 3 from my 1st marriage, his 1 from his, and in lieu of having more children, we have decided to let his 2 adult brothers move in as well. Oh yeah. Me and my girls are American, from NY and all the boys are from Mexico! Enchiladas, Pastas, Tamales, Anything with chicken. Being such a blended family we strive to create our own traditions. There is nothing better than cooking with your children to open the lines of communication. Kitchens are conducive to communication! My first tamales had me all shook up and I wasn't sure I even did it right. Luckily they were all gone in 2 days and I received the best compliment of all when my cunados told me they were authentic and delicious. They swore I called their sisters in Mexico for the recipe.
