About this Cook
I am a 25 year old wife, mother and step-mother of four children. I love cooking for our friends and family (especially when it's not a disaster)!
My favorite things to cook
I like trying new recipe's that challege my culinary abilities. I love making asian cuisine mainly because I love eating it! Also mexican cooking styles. I belive anyone can be a great cook as long as they know how to read and follow a recipe the rest just comes with time.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Growing up my mother cooked pretty much everything from scratch. I am pretty proud that when I ask my kids what they want for supper they don't know to choose from an assortment of Betty Crocker or boxed dinners.
My cooking triumphs
I thinks its that my husband brags to people about how good of a cook I am. Now I'm not so sure how accurate that is but it sure does feel good to know he likes my food.
My cooking tragedies
None really stick out in my mind. Although I did make brownies a while ago and I tried to transfer them to another pan which did not work out. So I ended up thinking I should just kind of chop them up then pour the frosting over which looked like a conglomerated pile of pooh. It wasn't very pretty at all. It sure did tatse good. My brother acually took one look at it and literally ran out the door. His loss! I decided instead of calling them brownies I should have called it fudge crumble cake.

Spiced Pumpkin Seeds
These had great flavor. I was very religeous about stiring the seeds every 5-10 minutes to prevent them from scorching and just provide an over-all even bake. YUM YUM YUMMY! I don't know if there will be enough for my kids to try when they are awake.

Apple Delight
Delicious!!! Definite 5 star here. I did mix the butter and cake mix prior to spreading on top. I think that worked out a lot better than trying to mix over the apple pie filling. Also I sprinkled it with some cinnamon and sugar after it came out of the over. SOOOOOO easy.
