Vegetarian Chili

awesome! I used soyrizo because I didn't have the meatless crumbles. I added much more beans, lentils and veggies in my chili - this is an excellent, versatile dish.

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough + Cupcake = The BEST Cupcake. Ever.

I used the golden butter recipe cake mix for this, didn't freeze the cookie dough overnight, just for about 45 minutes in the cupcake pan... turned out perfect, no raw dough, not dry. I think the cupcakes with the brownie batter are the best cupcake ever, this one; second best :)

Fresh Salsa

If you want to make this a 5 star, you gotta make changes. I grew up in southern California and lived in Yuma, AZ for a total of 26 years. First, I omitted the oil, cumin and vinegar. I added lime juice and cilantro. Also, if your tortilla chips have salt already on them, you might want to add a little less salt than the recipe calls for. If you prefer HOT leave the seed in from the pepper - or add a habanero pepper.

Some other posters suggested to add oil instead of shortening, I couldn't agree more. I've made it both ways, hands down, use the oil!

Brownie Batter + Cupcake = The SECOND BEST Cupcake. Ever

Made the recipe exactly as it's shown here, not on the box. Didn't make 48, only made 36 for me, adjusted the baking time (my oven cooks slower) - but they came out perfect! They were a big hit for ACA Cupcake Day even with a half sheet of cake, these definitely were preferred hands down - Thank you so much for sharing!

Plum Peach Chicken

I give this 5 stars, but I made some changes. If you're going to give a bad rating at least give some CONSTRUCTIVE criticism to help other members. Instead of adding juice, I used the syrup that comes in the can with canned peaches. I didn't have to add sugar. If you like sweet and spicy add some ground cayenne pepper. This entire recipe I added the ingredients to taste, so I had to keep adding this and that until I thought it was perfect. I added some red food coloring to make it look more appetizing. Also before I added to the chicken before baking, I took the sauce and simmered it on the stove to just as you would if you were making preserves. It was so great my picky eaters ate it up quick. After experimenting on my family, I gave some to my next door neighbors and they loved it. I served it with stir fry veggies and jasmine rice.

Best Brownies

another reviewer recommended when doubling the recipe leave out an egg and keep the salt 1/4 tsp. It worked and they came out fantastic. If you don't do this your brownies will come out like cake. I also had to bake it about 10 mins longer and the inside was still gooey but by the time they finished cooling off it came out fine.

Emma's Belgian Waffles

I substituted cornstarch for some flour... recommended by another review, I don't think I added enough, they were fluffy, and a little crunchy, I was going crunchy on the outside, light and fluffy on the inside. Be sure if you want that effect to add more than 1/2 cup of cornstarch (that's all I added).

Curry Sauce

I thought it was on great, used it on tofu cubes, bell peppers, onions & portabellas sauteed in citrus soy sauce on a bed of rice. I couldn't find any garam masala locally though, so I had to leave that out, unfortunately.

All Day Apple Butter

I had to cook it MUCH longer, even followed other reviews saying to put skewers underneath the lid to let the steam escape, still didn't get the consistency I wanted but it had a good flavor - enough for three 16oz jars

Spicy Rapid Roast Chicken

I followed the instructions of another user by the name of "dovelette" - except, I had a whole chicken that was 6 lbs, so the after the remaining time, I turned down the oven to 350 F for about another 45 min. Turned out great

Dairy Free Chocolate Pudding

I used ALMOND MILK - not soy milk - despite all the marketing claiming how much "healthier" soy is, actually it's harder on our digestive systems, plus almond milk TASTES BETTER than any alternative (unless you're allergic of course). it was awesome, my kids ate this all up!
