About this Cook
I am from Southern California and I've moved quite often since joining the Marine Corps. I've lived in Arizona, Japan, Northern California and North Carolina. It's interesting to try local foods and I love trying new things. www.youtube.com/tat2dMama68
My favorite things to cook
My favorite foods aren't necessary my favorite things to cook. I like quick and healthy because I work 55-60 hrs a week and being a wife/mom of 2 I have little time to exercise. If I don't mind being in the kitchen all afternoon I'll make a difficult dish that requires devoted time in the kitchen, thre reason I find it difficult is because I try to spend as much time with my family.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom was never much of a cook although she tried! So I'm learning completely on my own.
My cooking triumphs
As long as everyone likes it I consider it a triumph.
My cooking tragedies
I grew up on gas stoves, so you can imagine what happened when I was getting use to the electric ones.

Fresh Rhubarb Pie
I decided to make this because it was my grandfather's favorite. There wasn't enough good rhubarb @ the grocery store so I mixed it with lite cherry pie filling. It was great, I think it would have been just as good without the cherries

Chicken Pot Pie IX
My recommendation is to use the butter pie crust recipe on this site, it hasn't failed me yet! I used left over grilled chicken. For the soup mixture I didn't have chicken broth, so I used the leftover juices from heating up the chicken and veggies, melted butter, added some flour and milk to make a gravy. I added garlic salt, pepper and basil, then added a couple spoonfuls of sour cream. Everyone loved it.

Quick and Easy Alfredo Sauce
great sauce! I added some salt. While I melted the butter, I sauteed some diced sweet onion, green and red bell peppers with dried basil before I added the cream cheese. I steamed some broccoli and tossed it with chicken and angel hair... awesome
