About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
On Football Sundays my husbands friends always seem to make their way to my house for the "football" However, every time they come into the house they ask me "whats cooking?" I love to cook for all of them! Most of them are single and take out is the best they do during the week. Feeding them each week makes me feel good knowing that they get a little bit of home in each bite. My hubby loves the fact that I can impress his friends and they all are looking for a woman like me. Also, believe it or not, they always offer to help clean up! Not that I would let them into my kitchen! :-)
My cooking triumphs
Cooking for around 30 people each Christmas and Thanksgiving! From turkey, ham, dressings, veggies, and pies I get nothing but WOW! That makes my year!!
My cooking tragedies
Don't ever get distracted while doing stuff in the kitchen! Eggs left boiling on the stove WILL blow up all over your kitchen after a while. Then you can't get the smell out for months!!! Beginners mistake! My college room mate will never let me forget that horrible accident!

Flavorful Beef Stir-Fry
I love the ease of this recipe but I want to recommend to everyone to use Low Sodium Soy Sauce. I used regular and found it way to salty and I'm a salt lover. My daughter wouldn't eat it and my husband could barely choke it down which also says a lot because he will eat anything put in front of him. With that being said I gave it 4 stars because it is still a wonderful recipe and I will be trying it again with the Lower Sodium Soy Sauce. Other than that no changes are necessary. Oh, and I doubled the sauce too.

Sweet and Sour Ham Steak
I had to change the way I cooked the ham since I didn't have a grill handy but I basically boiled the ham in water in a skillet till it was cooked then I basted one side and broiled it in the oven for 1 minute. Then I basted the other side and broiled that for another minute. Turned out wonderful and juicy. I've decided that I want to try a whole ham glazed in this sauce sometime!

Herb, Garlic and Bacon Pork Loin
This was a great meal! The only thing I changed was the cooking temp. I started it out at 350 for thirty minutes then I turned it down to 325 for the remainder of the time. I followed the 1-1/2 hours with lid and then 1/2 hour without lid and I still had to cook it a little longer to get it to reach the internal temp of 160. I think it might be a good idea to make sure you check the meat temp if you use the lower 300 oven temp. Either that or plan on cooking it longer. My oven, by the way, was just checked for temp accuracy which we all know can make huge differences. Over all this was a wonderful recipe! I followed it word for word otherwise! I will be making it again!
