Oregano Cubed Potatoes

Loved it! Delicious and not at all too 'lemony' as stated by some reviewers!

Peachy Broccoli Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2008
Recipe as written is bland and too complicated. However, the idea is good and with a few simple tweaks, is a tasty meal! **** To make it taste better try this; Add 1 tsp garlic, 1 tsp ginger, 1 onion, 1 red chilli, 1 red capsicum. **** To make it easier, try this; Chop all veges and chicken. Cook chicken and onion (and salt & pepper)until not pink any more. Remove chicken from pan. I*n same pan stirfry all veges and flavourings until crisp/cooked. Re-add chicken to pan, warm. Pour in peaches & syrup and cook until thickened (only a few minutes). Eat with rice. Tastes great and much easier.

Chili I

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2008
This was good chilli - dont get me wrong - its just that I dont think it was better than normal chilli without the weird additions (ie beer, coffee, cocoa). My daughter wouldnt eat it - said it tasted weird - I liked it although there was an unusual flavour. If I made this again I would leave out the beer & coffee - I would still use the cocoa as it gives a smoothness to the sauce that I really liked.

Roasted New Potato Salad With Olives

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2008
This looks and tastes GREAT when warm (just made) but after a night in the fridge, the poatatoes look a little squidgy and not that attractive. Still tastes good but I recommend eating warm when just made.

Bombay Chicken and Rice

The best thing about this recipe is that it is so easy to make - throw in oven and leave! I added green & red peppers, tomato and spinach. It was ok - smelled better than it tasted but kids ate it up fine.

Peppermint Brittle

This was so easy and turned out great. My daughter made it to use as pre-Xmas gifts - she packed it into decorative noodle boxes lined in tissue paper - very pretty! Guests who tried some said it was delicious and a great idea!

Alfredo Blue

Well I thought this was just 'ok-ish' - it kinda stunk (guess thats the blue cheese & parmesan effect)..my daughter hated it - took one bite and couldnt eat it. I put the leftovers in the fridge but the dog will be eating them.

Bill's Blue Cheese Dressing

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2007
I think the proportions of sour cream vs mayonaisse should be reversed - this tasted too much like the mayo. I also didnt dig it with the worcestershire. Made another batch with a lot less mayo & w/o the worcester and it was better but still not super-fabulous like I was expecting after the raves.

Chicken with Lime Butter

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2007
It must be me because no-one else seemed to have a problem but I tried to make this sauce twice and both times the butter and lime juice separated so I had a greasy lumpy mess...not sure why - it seems very straight forward!!

Tex-Mex Macaroni and Cheese

Looked unappetising and tasted blandish. My daughter and I ate a half a bowl each and went 'eh' and couldnt eat the rest. Not bad - just boring. Probably best suited to kids/toddlers lunches.

Zesty Chicken and Potatoes

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2007
I thought this was a great, easy meal that tasted pretty good too! I left the skins on the potatoes, added baby carrots and used chicken breast. Also used the salad dressing that has oil in (not fat free) as this gives a better coating and keeps moisture & flavour in. To give this a FAB presentation and just add a little something, I served this over a bed of fresh baby spinach & rocket leaves with some halved cherry tomatoes alongside - it looked like something you order in a restaurant!! I will make this again - perhaps vary the dressing to change it a bit. Thanks!

Makhani Chicken (Indian Butter Chicken)

This is tasty but definitely doesnt taste like resturant butter chicken. I didnt do the skewer thing - just cooked chicken cubes in the sauce and served over rice.

Authentic South Indian Biryani

I rated this one the day after I made it and said that I thought the proportions were out - too much rice! Not enough liquid & spices..added garam masala, coriander, cumin etc...also added steamed (can microwave or fry) chunks of potato before baking...tasty with afew modifications..

Chicken Breasts with Balsamic Vinegar and Garlic

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2007
Had to add an onion and reduce the garlic to 2 cloves (who needs 6 cloves of garlic???)...added a splash of red wine to counteract the too-tangy taste of vinegar...still ended up just ok...this is a lot of effort for just ok!

Curry-Style Chicken and Spinach

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2006
I liked this! The kids liked it too - the only issue is that it looks a little like a pile of spinach which made the kids not want to eat it - once they did, they admitted that it was tasty! But - seriously - forget the onion powder - just chop a real onion and fry it off before adding the chicken/spices etc. Great recipe - simple and really tasty! Thanx.
