Chocolate Covered Cherry Cookies II

These taste ok, but the cookie part is incredibly dry. I could barely roll the dough because it crumbled so much, and when I tried to push my thumb in it cracked at the sides. I'm not sure what happened, but the ratio of dry to wet ingredients does seem a little off. In the end, the frosting adds enough moisture to make it ok, but I was very disappointed. Did anyone else have this problem?

Slow-Cooked Habanero Chili

This is a great chili recipe! The only change I make is that we like our chili a little thick so instead of just tomato sauce, I add a 12 ounce can of tomato paste and then a just 4-6 ounces of sauce. I also haven't been able to find drief habaneros so I use fresh. Cutting them is a little dangerous but well worth it!

Mrs. Sigg's Snickerdoodles

These are a huge hit everytime I make them. I substitue the 1/2 cup each of butter and shortening with 1 cup of margarine, but they come out just as good, and a few less calories.

Chocolate Pretzels

These are excellent, a huge hit when I make them. I like to play around with different types of kisses (caramel, dark chocolate, hugs, etc.) The caramel are always a big hit, but a word of caution, when you press them m&m in if the chocolate is too soft the caramel will explode out and make a bit of a mess, still tasty though! Also, the time you need to leave them in the oven will vary slightly depending on the chocolate (white chocolate melts faster, dark chocolate take a little longer). I was so glad to find this recipe!!!

Wild Rice and Asparagus Chicken Breasts

I only give this recipe 4 stars because I did make a few changes. I used sesame oil instead of peanut as others recommend. At whole foods I found a spicy sesame oil that was wonderful. The hoison sauce I had was a little sweeter than I expected (this was my first experience using it). Since we like food very spicy I also added red pepper to fire it up a bit more. I also made it with snow peas and carrots. It was delicious. Cooking the chicken in the hot sesame oil after seasoning with some salt, pepper, and garlic was great!

Bread Machine Challah II

I tried this recipe twice with different jars of yeast but both times it did not rise at all. I then tried another challah recipe with the same yeast and it worked perfectly. I even tried adding additional flour and yeast as other reviewers suggested but it still refused to rise. In my experience, when using a bread machine (that lets the dough rise for an hour) after braiding it should only need to rise for another 20 minutes or so. I don't know why this recipe didn't work for me, but I urge caution!!!

Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies I

These are amazing! I followed the recipe exactly and they came out moist, chocolately, and delicious. I made them to send to boyfriend deployed with the military. When he got them he said he had to hide them from everyone, definitely one I will use again.
