One Bowl Chocolate Cake III

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2009
Used this cake recipe to do my sons robot birthday cake. It was moist and yummy. Just baked it in a sheet cake pan and cut and shaped it into the robot!

So Yummy! Was wishing we had more then two pumpkins for Jack O Lantern's this year! I used garlic powder instead of garlic salt and used alot more of it! Perfectly crispy! THANKS.

Super Moist Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2009
This was a very heavy bread, but it is very moist. I used pecans instead of walnuts... not sure if I'll make again. Might have been too heavy for my taste.

Best White Icing Ever

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2009
this is a great fluffy icing, the whipped fluffiness made it a little hard to use to decorate a cake though. The best part is its not too sweet and lactose free for my son.

I made this exactly as is, except I left out the walnuts because it was for my babies frist birthday. Used it to bake a bunch of mini teddy bears. turned out nice and moist.

Pumpkin Tart With Pecan Crust

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2009
This smells great, and tastes good too. The filling is perfect, and I love the pecans and maple syrup in the crust but felt the crust was missing a little something... bit blah. However my husband thought it was perfect. Only change I made was I used ground ginger instead of fresh and changed the amount to compensate for the sub. Perfect for my lactose intolerant kid, thank you.

Spinach and Feta Turkey Burgers

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2009
These were eaten so fast that I didn't have time to get a picture! I call that a hit! Don't think I'll ever go back to plain old beef burgers! (I did add lemon juice and paprika as someone suggested and I let the patties chill for a bit in the frig before putting them on the BBQ, helps them stay together better. Next time I'm going to add diced onion too.) Thank you VbCook!

Pineapple Zucchini Loaf

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2009
This reminds me of Spanish Bar Cake... really nice nutmeg-ish taste to it. Not sure if I like the pineapple in this but I know my husband loves it, so its ok. I only had 1/2 cup of oil in the house so I tossed in a 1/2 cup of apple sauce too, it worked fine. Thx.

Chicken Pot Pie I

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2009
This is a good idea, alot faster. The only change I made was I used pre cooked carrot, onion and celery and a 1/2 can of peas instead of the can of mixed veggies. Other than that, wouldn't change a thing and I will make again. Thanks!

Easy to make, pretty to look at... and tastes so good! I made it with best ever pie crust and sprinkled sugared cinnamon on top. Made with fresh peaches and raspberries it tastes wonderful! The whole family loved it! Thank you!!!

Don't Knock it Until You Try it Zucchini Chocolate Banana Nut Milkshake

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2009
I found this a tad on the sweet side, but I love the zucchini chocolate banana combo. Next time I'll just add a little less sugar. I confess, I used a blob of peanut butter in stead of nuts! I had high hopes for this as a way to get veggies past my son's lips... he didn't like it. But now that I think about it, I think it was because its really cold... he's not much of an ice cream boy. Thank you! I'm looking forward to making it for the hubby, I know he'll love it.

Pork Chop and Feta Skillet

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2009
This was easy to make and my two year-old actually liked it! (I liked it too). I used thin fast fry pork chops and should have scaled back the spice rub a bit. I will continue to make this exactly as it says... just a little lighter on the spices! By the way, sundried tomato and basil feta is yummy!! Thanks.

Stuffed and Baked Tomatoes

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2009
these were quite good... I did use more green pepper and onion then the recipe called for and I'm glad I did. It is a little on the blah side so next time I think maybe I will put shredded cheese on top or something of that nature. Super easy to make and I will make them again! Thanks!

Beth's Peach-Nectarine Muffins

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2009
What a great muffin! Nice gentle taste. I partly blended my fruit instead of chopped, so it was less visible and my son would eat it. (which he did by the way! yay!). Also, I confess I added a bit of cinnamon. I will make these again for sure. Thanks.

Easy Batter Fruit Cobbler

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2009
This is easy, fast and a good way to use up fresh berries (I used leftover fresh raspberries!). I did change it though, I added vanilla and cinnamon to the batter. Glad I did, think it would have been missing something otherwise. Also used part brown sugar and part white, don't know why, just for fun!

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2009
I will look no further for a blueberry muffin recipe... these were instantly famous in my house. The only thing I did different was besides putting the blueberries in the batter, I also plunked a few blueberries right on top of each one with the crumble topping. Thanks so much!

A-Maize-ing Corn Chowder

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2008
My husband loved this (corn lover) We do plan to tweak it in the future... not sure how, just to spice it up a bit. One change we did make was to put the bacon right in it instead of sprinkle on top.
