About this Cook
I have three children and two stepchildren. Grandmother of 8 wonderful grandkids. We love to get together for meals whether its holidays, birthdays, or just to gather. We usually gather at my home and I do 99% of the cooking which I love. My husband complains that its to much for me but I love it and I love doing it. I am the youngest of 6 kids so I had to learn early on how to cook. My brothers and sisters used to make me make them something to eat. By first grade I knew how to make an omelet and actually did that for show and tell one time.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook deserts the most. I also cook a lot of PA dutch dishes. I grew up on that and its what we enjoy the most.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Growing up we used to make our own cranberry relish. We used an old hand grinder to crush the berries and the oranges. However the counter tops were to thick to hold the grinder on so we used to attach it to a cutting board and we used to take turns sitting on the cutting board. Of course, I had to do it for more years than my sisters since I was the littlest. It was lots of fun and all these later we still talk about it. Whenever the holidays roll around its always a joke who's making the cranberry relish and who's sitting on the board
My cooking triumphs
I catered my husband 60th birthday party last year all by myself. I made everything from scratch for over 100 people. Of course I cooked enough for 200. I also am grateful that I tought all my kids how to cook. It has helped them out so much. Especially when they went off to college or on their own. Otherwise they would have starved.
My cooking tragedies
Not sure I really have any. I basically don't make things I know won't go over to well. Somethings my husband likes a whole lot more than others but he doesn't really complain. He may just let me know that it wasn't his favorite thing.

Best Ever Butter Cream Frosting
The best frosting I ever had or made. I didn't mind that it took a little planning and time to get it perfect because thats what this frosting is, perfect. I put it on a banana cake and it was a wonderful combination. I would recommend this frosting to anyone.

Banana Cake II
I loved this recipe and cake. I was beautiful and tasted wonderful. I put a creamy butter cream frosting on it and it was to die for. My husband had two piece right after I put the frosting on. This is a true thumbs up.
