About this Cook
I'm a mom of 3 boys (4, if you count my husband), and I cook nightly. I need some new recipes--ones that are quick and easy!
My favorite things to cook
Crunchy chicken (my kid's favorite), chocolate chip cookies, baked chicken, tacos, hamburgers, omelets, fondue
My favorite family cooking traditions
Each of my children have deemed "Crunchy Chicken" as their favorite meal. So, this is their special meal on all their special days. I always make my husband beef fondue on his birthday and usually on our anniversary. My oldest son, 18, loves me to make my chocolate chip cheesecake for his birthday cake.
My cooking triumphs
Stumbling across the Crunchy Chicken recipe! Figuring out how to make won tons like my mom used to. Finding Allrecipes!!!!!!!!!!!!
My cooking tragedies
Aiding and abetting my mother-in-law with a dish one time that included Thousand Island Dressing and sauerkraut! She and I like it, but the men........ Oh, and let's not forget the time I added GARLIC to my husband's omelet. OR, heaven forbid I should alter in ANY way, one of my tried and true recipes!!

Chinese Green Bean Stir-Fry
I thought these were quite good, but my only complaint is that they were slightly bland. It may be because I had to make my own black bean sauce (I couldn't find it anywhere!). I used a black bean sauce recipe from another site because I was desperate! I will make this again when I am able to go to an Asian store to get the black bean sauce!

Baked Teriyaki Chicken
The entire family thought this was really yummy! I wasn't sure if I was supposed to use boneless thighs, but I did, and they were great. I did half the soy sauce and used flour (twice as much) for the cornstarch, since I was out, and used brown sugar instead of white. I actually doubled the sauce based on the comments here, but had way too much left, because I did not dump it in the pan--I brushed it on as instructed. Because my oven runs so hot, I lowered the temp to 400. This was an excellent dish, and the leftovers (barely any!) will make a nice lunch tomorrow!
