Super Yum! I think they are better than pecan pie! The one thing I try to remember is to make sure to press the crust up the side of the pan to make it where when I pour the filling it will not seep under the crust. Then it will burn and that part has to be tossed. Bummer to toss all that goodness! These are always a big hit at any get together. Thanks for the recipe.

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Way to easy to taste this good! I did add 1 tsp. of poultry seasoning to the chicken mix. I also used my large crock pot to make sure there is enough room for the dumplings. Thank you for the recipe.

Oklahoma Brisket

Very easy to follow. I did cook it a bit long so it was really done on the narrow end. But hey that was good chopped up in some pinto beans.

Delicious Black Bean Burritos

Yumola! This is a great recipe! I did double it and it made five burritos for us. I did add about 2 tsp. of cumin. I do think that corn would add a nice touch next time. This is a keeper! Thanks for posting.

Mexican Fire Rice

Really good wrapped up in a tortilla. I used hot sausage and brown rice. Using the brown rice I increased the liquid to three cups. For the liquid I used canned beef broth as others have stated. The kids are already asking for this one again.

Frijoles a la Charra

Yum! We really liked this one. I doubled the recipe and the next day we made bean burritos out of the leftovers. I did not add the beer. I also substituted a can of rotel for the tomatoes and jalapenos. I also followed another reviewer’s advice and used two cubes of beef bouillon. I did not have to soak my beans before putting them in the slow cooker. They cooked about 8 hour’s total. Thank you for the recipe.

Fabulous Homemade Bread

Buttermilk Chocolate Cake with Fudge Icing

**When you mix the buttermilk and soda make sure you have it in a large enough container or it will overflow because it expands** This cake is good, just not great. The fudge icing is really good. It seems that it wont be enough to frost the cake, but it is. Like others have stated it sets up fast. I made the frosting again for another cake and added 1 cup small marshmallows after I took it off the burner. Mixed as directed. Yum!!

Jam Filled Butter Cookies

Yummy and Fun!! Butter is important here, no margarine. I also added 1 tsp of almond extract to batter. My kids loved to make and eat these.

Broccoli and Ramen Noodle Salad

Yummy! I used almonds because that is what was in the pantry. Also I only used one packet of the seasoning to cut out some salt. It was very good. We like it with the noodles crunchy. As they soften it takes away the appeal of the salad to us.

Chocolate Covered Cherry Cookies II

These cookies were a hit this Christmas. I found if they are small the cherry flavor really is best. The choc topping is super delish! A bit hard to roll, but well worth the effort.
