Korean BBQ Chicken Marinade

Reviewed: May 8, 2009
Im giving this 4 stars because my husband really likes it and he doesnt usually like chicken all that much. But for me, it just isnt sweet enough. I have tried doubleing the sugar and it still wasnt sweet. Also, it didnt seem to completely marinate through the whole piece of chicken, just the skin, even with over 48 hrs marinading. I will try something ekse to see if I can make it a bit more sweet as well as make sure the taste is soaked all the way through.

Honey Mustard Salad Dressing

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2009
This is so good. I used stone ground mustard, doubled the amount. Added more mayo, cut the oil in half (using EVOO), cut the vinegar in half(using apple cider vin.) and used onion powder, and dried parsley. If I imagined the perfect honey mustard salad dressing, this would be it. I love it and will definitley make again!!

Lentil Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2009
I have never worked with lentils before and I LOVED this!! I added more tomatoes and more liquid. It is more like a stew than a soup. But is so so good. I will definitley be making this again, again, and again!!

Apple Crumble Pie

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2009
This is definitley my new staple recipe for homemade apple pie. I do as one of the other ladies do and coat the apples in flour then layer apples, sugar cinnamon, apples, cinnamon sugar in the crust. I also add a little bit more cinnamon sugar over the final layer of apples before putting on the crumble. I usually use Granny Smith apples but this last time I didnt have any so I used 2 lg honeycrisp apples and 1 braeburn apple and it turned out really well also. Great recipe!! Yum Yum Yum!!

Chai Tea Mix

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2008
This is so comfy cozy good. Perfect for a cold winters day. The first time I made it I didnt add the extra spices listed in the headline and it was lovely. This time I added the extra spices and it just gives it a more umph. I like it both ways. Will keep this on hand all year round, living in Alaska you need a good cup of something soothing and hot. Thanks so much for the recipe!!

Baked Ham Sandwiches

I really loved these. However, I did just the basic stuff.... ham, swiss, mustard and butter. I used the ham from one that I baked a few nights ago. Will definitley be making these again.

Easy Roasted Pork

Reviewed: Jun. 9, 2008
This was okay. I wouldnt make it to serve as a savory style meal. I liked it but I have a major sweet tooth. It was difficult to manage the temp. When I measured the temp of the meat, it was just a couple of degrees away from being done so I went ahead and took it out, let it rest for about 10 min. and it was still dry. I guess, most pork loins are dry no matter how you cook them...... if anyone has a recipe that keeps it nice and moist let me know!!

Dump Cake I

Reviewed: May 28, 2008
I am giving this 5 stars because I have never found a dump cake that I liked but I really LOVE this one. I added a can of drained tart pie cherries to the cherry pie filling and used a 20 oz can of pineapple, I have also made it with a small can and I couldnt tell the difference. I like to add about 2-3 tbsp. of lemon juice as well. I mixed about 1/3c. or so of the cake mix in with the filling just to give it some body. Then poured the rest of the cake mix on top. I just patted the butter on top but I did use a stick and a half instead of just one. I am making this again tonight, yum!! I think I might sprinkle just a little bit of cinnamon on the top right about 10 min. before its done.

Bacon Wrapped Smokies

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2008
These are wonderful for any potluck dinner. We made a double batch an they were gone in less that 15 minutes. Will defiantely make again. Also they are super super easy. I just sprinkled the brown sugar on top instead of rolling the smokies in it.

Sauteed Apples

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2008
These were really good for homemade sauteed apples. I was hoping that these would taste like the spiced apples from chili's but I will keep looking. Overall a good recipe, these would be awesome with ice cream.

Zesty Slow Cooker Chicken Barbecue

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2008
This was okay, the juices from the chicken keep the BBQ from sticking to the chicken and it also makes the BBQ sauce really runny. I did thicken it up with con starch, but it still wasnt all that zesty.

Baked Salmon II

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2008
This is such an easy fool proof way to impress anyone. It is also versatile in that you could use butter instead of Olive Oil and I didnt even measure out the ingredients, I just guesstimated. I did use crushed garlic and added a little more then called for. I have used this with halibut and white salmon as well. It will be hard for me to make salmon or halibut any other way from now on.

No Bake Cookies III

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2008
I thought that these were right on. I dont remember having these as a kid but I wish I would have had the opportunity!! I think next time I will follow a few other reviews and add a 1/4c. more peanut butter. Great recipe!!~~~~ I made these again but I only had 2c. oats, so I scaled the recipe down to 16 serv. and less choc., sugar, butter mixture = less cooking time!! Needless to say they were a little hard and dry, next time I will definatley only cook for 1 minute flat.

Sandy's Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2008
I thought this cake was excellent. It was very moist and the sour cream gives it a nice taste. I made this as a sheet cake and if I was using a reg 9x13 pan, I would have needed two pans. Next time I will half the recipe to make a single sheet cake. I used Ricks ricks buttercream icing and it paired really nicley. Will make this again.
