I'm 27 and have been cooking since I can remember. My dad taught me everything since my mom's idea of cooking is peeling an orange. I'm very comfortable in the kitchen but would like to branch out and try new methods. I had a baby in March 2008 so "quick and easy" recipes are starting to become more popular.
My favorite things to cook
Any pasta, chicken noodle soup, stir-fry, sauces, cookies, cakes, trifles
My favorite family cooking traditions
I've been cooking since I can remember. I've learned almost everything I know from my dad. He and my grandma are the chefs of the family. Most everything we cook is Italian. My mom doesn't do much cooking but she introduced me to trifles, which I now love to make. They're easy, versatile and beautiful.
My cooking triumphs
The day my husband told me my meatballs were better than his mom's.
My cooking tragedies
I was really excited about my new food processor and chopped up an onion. For some reason I had already put the pureed tomatoes in the pot and added the raw onions AFTER without sauteing them first. The sauce was SO oniony that I had to through it away. I blame pregnancy brain ;)
