About this Cook
Just a person who loves to bake, cook and create new masterpieces eveyday. The kitchen is like therapy to me!
My favorite things to cook
DESSERTS..DESSERTS...DESSERTS!! Can you tell I love my desserts. Cookies, cakes, pies, cream puffs..all from scratch and these are my specialties. Second runners up would be chicken dishes, cream sauces, italian pasta dishes, and anything that has to do with a Thanksgiving feast.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every Thanksgiving for years now- my father comes over bright and early in the morning to stuff the turkey and make all the fixings. I learned years ago what to do myself..but it wouldn't be the same without him here guiding me and helping me. Together we create a 10 course Thanksgiving feast for our entire family.
My cooking triumphs
I would have to say that cookies are my calling in life. Every time someone has a cookie of mine- they rant and rave and ask for a batch of their own. The down side is I can never ever show up at a function without cookies-I would be killed. I put my heart into whatever I make and when I hear all the rave reviews when it's eaten- I just love it!
My cooking tragedies
In all my years of cooking-my husband still makes reference back to a chicken teriyaki I completely messed up in my early days of cooking. I don't know what I did but it didn't taste pretty. Other than that I have had a good knack at fixing a dish gone bad.

Asparagus Bruschetta
This was four stars as is and five with a few add-ins. Absolutely delicious. I used Feta cheese instead of blue-thats what I had on hand and I added in some fresh parsley with the basil. It def needs more salt than specified and I added a few dashes of paprika for some mild heat and a sprinkle of sugar. Cannot wait to make for some company.

Honey Roasted Red Potatoes
These were so awesome. I didn't change a thing except added more than a pinch of salt. Once I poured the sauce over the potatoes I mixed to make sure they were nice and coated. And then did the same twice during baking. My baking time was 45 minutes. PERFECTO! Will be making this plenty in the future.

Roast Beef Horseradish Roll-Ups
Yum! I made a bunch of different roll-ups for a lunch party and these were my favorite. I used a Boars Head prepared horseradish sauce and instead of shredded cheddar I just used yellow american. Didn't have four hours to let them sit..more like 1 1/2 and they were just fine to cut. Will make again. Thanks for the share.
