About this Cook
Love to cook, love to read, and love to dance. I have two wonderful boys in my life. I live in the country, and plan to stay here. I am a "transplant" to Wisconsin. Now a cheesehead, and proud of it!
My favorite things to cook
Cheesecake. Anything that the family raves over. I love cooking in my slowcooker. Fix it and forget it. :D Pretty much anything easy. I don't like anything that takes over an hour to prepare or have to search several stores for ingredients.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Homemade stuffing in the slow cooker for Thanksgiving. For Easter I make Carrot Cake from scratch, with cream cheese frosting. An "Eclair" cake for the in-laws, they say it is a must have for the family parties.
My cooking triumphs
I make a really simple Chicken Potpie. Everyone in my family loves it. I make a good Chicken Cordon Bleu. My family requests it quite often. I love making cheesecakes. I only had one NOT turn out. It was a bit on the dry side, and it cracked on top. My son loved it though. Children are great :) Whenever I cook for my mother, she is so impressed and in awe of what I make. She thinks I am a wonderful cook. It makes me so happy that I can impress her, she is my best friend. I learned from her, but she denies that she ever cooked that way.
My cooking tragedies
When I was a child, I made chocolate chip cookies. I put in a Tablespoon of salt instead of the teaspoon. EWWWW salty cookies! I also have made runny mashed potatoes, too much milk. Also, taking some cookies out of the oven, I burnt my right wrist when I was like 14. Still have the scar. I probably have many more tragedies that I do not recall them all.

Spinach Artichoke Hummus with Roasted Red Peppers
Made this for Christmas Eve events. It barely got touched. In my area, the ingredients were expensive. It had potential and it was very pretty, but I will not make again.

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings
Only 4 stars because it needs some "doctoring". I added marjoram, paprika, salt and pepper. one can cream of celery and cream of chicken. I threw in some carrots, onion, and celery. I used Country Style Grands biscuits (rolled flat and sliced up) Only one can is plenty for a 6qt cooker. I had 4 boneless/skinless chicken breasts. Then it turned out great. My family loved it.

Fresh Frozen Cucumbers
No thank you. I followed the recipe. I just thought they were too sweet. I don't call it a total waste. But it was an extensive wait for uninspiring results. I will search for a better recipe.
