About this Cook
I love cooking, but hate cleaning the mess afterwards! I have been cooking for a while, and strive to one day be better than my mom - but I don't think that is ever going to happen.
My favorite things to cook
Very comforting foods like perogies, roasts and potatos, spaghetti, and stroganoffs. Chicken soups and stews are also favourites, and I am constantly looking for flavourful recipes!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Cooking a full meal on almost every night of the week and sitting down with the family to eat it.
My cooking triumphs
When I was able to pass my first successful recipe over to my mom.
My cooking tragedies
When a hamburger dish I made tasted like feet, but my husband didn't want to admit it.

Curried Coconut Chicken
This was an excellent dish! I am definitely not a fan of curry, but I would certainly make this again. I cooked the curry in oil for about 5 minutes, and then cooked the onion and garlic for another 5. I had to add more oil (another tbsp and a half) to thin out the spice mixture enough to coat the chicken. I simmered the mixture, uncovered, for 60 minutes, and it turned out beautifully! My husband said the recipe is a definite keeper.

Brooke's Best Bombshell Brownies
This recipe is amazing. I am known for my brownies, and had been looking for a new recipe to try. These are fantastic. I took the suggestion of another reviewer, and added 1/2 tsp of baking soda to give them some lift and the thin shell on top. They are absolutely delicious!

Ukrainian Chicken Kiev
This recipe was good. Quite time consuming, but with more practice I think the timing and results will improve.
