I am a wife and mother of one child. He is 2 1/2 years old. I have a part-time job as a librarian, and I love being surrounded by books at my job. For fun, I love to play with my son at the sprinkler park and go out with my girlfriends!
My favorite things to cook
Mmm. I love to cook desserts because they are simple and look so impressive. I love cooking new foods so I am always looking for new recipes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family has more eating traditions than cooking ones. One of my first foods was hummus, middle-eastern bean dip. To this day, it is one of my favorite foods. I recently made a successful batch with a recipe off this site.
My cooking triumphs
My older brother taught me to make homemade spaghetti sauce when I was in highschool. It took all day. I invited some friends over and served them all chicken parmesan with spaghetti, all using my sauce. I still remember how to make it from scratch.
My cooking tragedies
My husband's family is German and they make these great beerocks. I had a recipe from my mother-in-law. It called for a couple pounds ground beef, an onion, some shredded cabbage, and crescent rolls. I bought a couple cans. I got it all ready and proceeded to roll my filling in the rolls. Well, I had a lot of filling! I bought 6 cans of crescent rolls. We had beerocks everywhere, and they were not very good. My dear husband at all of them.
