In the wonderful world of office filing, faxing, collating, stapling, phoning, avoiding, meeting deadlines...and occasionally missing them, lives a creature that I despise, his name is potluck. Potluck always seems to bring out the desperate in people and their need for validation that yes,… MORE

About this Cook
I'm Originally from Canada but have strong Eastern European roots. After studying Culinary Arts, I have created my own style of easy and sometimes not so easy recipes I can share over the phone with my cooking challenged girlfriends. Cooking is my hobby, my love in life, and my masterpiece occasionally.
My favorite things to cook
I enjoy cooking anything that has a bit of a challenge to it...and of course easy things on long hard days :)
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family is from Russia..I enjoy cooking a lot of Russian things, and sometimes applying a bit of russian to non russian recipes I find on here.
My cooking triumphs
My biggest cooking triumph is perfecting my grandmothers recipes...although they'll never quite taste just as good as hers do..I do okay I guess :)
My cooking tragedies
My cooking tragedies usually go straight to the garbage..with me it's all or nothing.

Yummy Korean Glass Noodles (Jap Chae)
I am the publisher of this recipe, and just wanted to mention, as I said, this is definitely not a real Jap chae, it is more of an appetizer that is sweet and very delicate. There are many wonderful Jap Chae recipes on this site that include vegetables and meats.

Quick and Easy Alfredo Sauce
Excellent recipe, I used low fat cream cheese and doubled the recipe, but only used 3 cups milk instead of 4. I used basil parmesan cheese...turned out a little green but so good! I then tossed it with seafood I boiled in a little old bay then fried with some garlic for a coupld of minutes and linguini. Thanks so much for an amazing sauce!!

Tomato Soup II
Definitely a good soup, I also added basmati rice and let it boil out in the soup (make sure you wash the rice very well first) fresh cilantro at the end, and lots of ground black pepper for a nice kick to warm you up!
