About this Cook
I have been married since 1995 and have 3 children. I started really cooking after I got married. I love hearing how great my cooking is. My kids are my best complimenters.
My favorite things to cook
I just began to can spaghetti sauce 2 years ago. I absolutely love the smell of home cooked sauce cooking. I am Italian and nothing to me is better than a great big pot of spaghetti. I also have recently learned that I have a knack for pie baking.
My favorite family cooking traditions
At the holidays I have always helped my mom do the baking. It wasn't until the last few years that I realized how much I truly enjoy this.
My cooking triumphs
I made pies for Christmas this year at my In-laws house, it was great. Everyone raved and compared me to my husbands grandma, who passed away a couple of years ago. She was a truly fantastic cook and to be compared to her was wonderful.
My cooking tragedies
I remember trying to make a Pineapple Chicken dish when I was 16 for me and my brother. It was awful. The taste just wasn't right and the rice was undercooked. Needless to say the trash got more to eat than we did.

Slow Cooker Tamale Pie
I doubled this recipe. It came out ok. I forgot to add the cheese. I added that when it was dished out. To me it was a little bland. I think it could have used a little more spice to it possibly a little more sauce. My hubby enjoyed this alot. Pretty quick and easy though.

Pepperoncini Beef
This was very good. I did not have garlic cloves so I substituted garlic powder for them. This did have a bite to it. It was very tender. I shredded this and served on Kaiser rolls with some sauteed onions and provolone cheese. I will be making this again.

Apple Crisp II
This was very good! However after baking I had lot of liquid in my pan. It may be from the type of apples I used(Cortland). I drained a good bit of it out of the pan, thickened it with cornstarch and poured over the top of the crisp. This was an overall great recipe. Next time I will try different apples or omit the water all together.
