About this Cook
I am a wife and mother of three and also a nursing student. I am going to be a neonatal nurse although I still have a ways to go. I love to cook and make everything from scratch. I can't wait to teach my children everything I know. I would love to have my own restaurant someday
My favorite things to cook
Gumbo, spicy crab stir fry, and pumpkin bread. Aything Southern! Also, I love to try cooking new dishes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love my Grandma's chicken 'n' dumplings and cornbread dressing. I make the chicken and dumplings for my kids and cornbread dessing for Xmas every year.
My cooking triumphs
Gumbo!! I love everything Cajun and this is the best thing I make.
My cooking tragedies
The first time I made my great-grandma's hot water chocolate cake, I forgot the sugar! Needless to say, it was awful.

Cajun Macaroni
I first found this recipe in Taste of Home and misplace it, so when I saw this I was thrilled. I love it so much and so does my family. It has tons of flavor and is very economical. Feeds our family of five with leftovers

Apple Bavarian Torte
This was so good. I can't believe how easy it was to make. The only thing I changed was I doubled the sugar in the cream cheese mixture. Wonderful! I also made it with fresh peaches and it was great, too. One thing, do not double the recipe. It takes to long to cook in the middle and will burn before it is done.
