Simple and tasty! I used puff pastry and added 1 tsp of lemon butter into cream cheese mixture. It tasted better when chilled, especially with the crispy melted sugar at the bottom. Also, it will be easier to cut into pieces when the cheese is fully set. Both my fiance and I loved it very much, will make again. Thanks for the recipe.

Vanilla Ice Cream VI

I am a vanilla ice cream lover but my fiancé. So, I made a small amount of this ice cream just for myself. But after he tasted he asked for more and eventually finished everything! Then he said “we do not need to buy ice cream anymore.”

Grilled Salmon Skewers

I give thumbs up for this recipe. My fiancée and I like it very much. I made six skewers for dinner and served it with boiled asparagus and potato salad. Yes... it's kind of west met the east dinner. I made some changes to the marinade, I used lemon juice instead of vinegar, and added some lemon zests.

Amish White Bread

Soft and moist! I have reduced the amount of sugar but it is still a bit too sweet for me. Next time I will reduce the amount of sugar by half and add bit more salt, cos I like bit salty bread for sandwiches. Thanks for this great recipe.

One Bowl Brownies

I cut the brownies into 1.5" squares and coated them with melted dark choc! My fiance and friends loved them, some of my friends even asked for the recipe. However, I personally think that it was too sweet even though I had recuded the sugar.

Honey Garlic Ribs

I cut the ribs into serving size instead of individual rib, it is easier to turn them over during cooking. I dont have any vinegar on hand so I used lemon juice and added some lemon zest. I had also thrown in some frozen chestnuts. Surprisingly they went very well with ribs, loved them! Next time I will try to boil the ribs first as suggested by another reviewer and grill after marinate with the sauce.

Rosemary Braised Lamb Shanks

I used lamb ribs instead of lamb shanks and fresh tomatoes instead of canned tomatoes. I served it with roasted garlic mashed potatoes too, it was a really great combination. Thanks for such easy and nice recipe!

French Vanilla Slices (Mille-feuilles)

I saw another mille feuille online which calls for lesser plain flour, I reduced the plain flour to 4 tbsp. I used only 2 sheets of frozen pastry and it took only 10-12mins to bake. My advise is to cut it into serving size before dusting the sugar. Overall, it was presentable and taste yummy and worth a try.

Clam Sauce with Linguine

I cooked this dish twice with fettuccine, made changes to this recipe for a healthier dish. Used olive oil instead of butter to saute garlic and mushroom and used milk and flour to thicken the sauce. (saute flour together with garlic and mushroom and add in 1/2 cup of milk). Also, I used canned chunk tuna instead of clams as I could not find canned clams in where I live. My fiance and I love this pasta very much, especially with lots of mushrooms.

Banana Cake V

Great banana cake! It tastes like the one I used to buy from KL(Malaysia) bus terminal whenever I went back to Malaysia. My fiance and I love this cake very much. However, I would make some changes next time, eg: bake in muffin cups, top with sliced banana etc.

Grilled Asparagus with Orange Wasabi Dressing

I garnished the dish with some orange zests to give a zestful taste for the dish. Great recipe, my Japanese fiance liked it very much and asked for the recipe to be sent to his mum in Japan.

Chicken Pot Pie II

I scaled down the recipe to 2 servings and made 8 individual pies instead of a pot pie. I used frozen puff pastry too. I made 4 on the first day and kept remaining filling in the fridge. I made another 4 pies 2 days later for lunch, surprisingly they taste better!

Butter Crescents

I scaled down the recipe to half. It supposed to make only 6, but I had made 10. I made 4 tuna buns and 6 crescents, all mini size. I wanted to try different flavour of crescent, so I made 3 originals, 2 with brown sugar and 1 with chocolate chips. All turned out nice, I prefer tuna bun and brown sugar crescent. Note: The brown sugar I used is different from what we normally use in baking.

Grandma Johnson's Scones

I divided the dough into 2 portions, made some plain and some with chocolate chips scones. Both turned out fine. I used cookies cutter to cut, I think 3/4 inch thick is abit too flat, 1 inch will be better. My fiance said this scone tastes nicer than the one I bought from bakery days ago. He doesn't like too buttery taste, this is just fine. I will bake again, perhaps with sultanas or berries.

German Potato Pancakes

I added some salt to shredded potatoes to draw out extra water and to prevent it from turning into pink/brown. I didnt add extra salt into the mixture, but added 1 teaspoon of curry powder to add extra flavour. I served it with mayonise instead of sour cream. My fiance asked me to make again with some spring onion(shallot) added. Nice recipe, I will try it again ;).
