About this Cook
I am Chinese-Malaysian, married to a pretty handsome (to me) Japanese guy and we have a 6 month-old boy. I learnt cooking from my mum and from watching cooking programs on TV. My mum let me handle her kitchen since I was 12 or 13, thus I have more than 10 years of cooking experiences since then.
My favorite things to cook
I like to cook fusion dishes and there are many experiments going on in MY Kitchen. I am falling for baking recently. Check out my blog for dishes I tested and tasted. >>www.mykitch3n.blogspot.com
My favorite family cooking traditions
For Lunar New Year's reunion lunch/dinner (new year eve), mum likes to cook braised pork with eggs, stir-fried mixed vegetables, sweet and sour pork ribs with pineapple (eat with traditional rice cake), stir-fried flat noodles, boiled chicken, and some other snacks. Generally everything is in big amount as on the first day of the Lunar new year we do not cook.
My cooking triumphs
Whenever there is a family gathering, mum wants me to cook as my cooking skill is the best amongst her 4 daughters and I always cook something new. **My sisters do agree with mum though.
My cooking tragedies
Biscotti that were as hard as rock that son of my friend (2 y/o) used them as drumsticks! ...too many to mention all...

Cream Cheese Squares
Simple and tasty! I used puff pastry and added 1 tsp of lemon butter into cream cheese mixture. It tasted better when chilled, especially with the crispy melted sugar at the bottom. Also, it will be easier to cut into pieces when the cheese is fully set. Both my fiance and I loved it very much, will make again. Thanks for the recipe.
