I am married to a wonderful man. I have a son that was born Christmas day 2004. I recently added another little boy, Max, to our family. He was born December 4, 2009. Right now, I am a work-at-home mom. I bake and decorate special occasion cakes. I love to try different recipes. But most of all I enjoy baking anything from cookies and candy, to children's birthday cakes. I love the response I get from my family and friends when they are enjoying what I have made. Since I am from a family of 10, we usually made meals that were simple and could be made in bulk (i.e. beans and weiners). So I have to start some of my own family traditions. Everyone loves my pecan pie. I make it every year for Thanksgiving and Christmas. My husbands friends love my oatmeal cookies. I change the ingredients all the time. Either oatmeal chocolate chip with cranberries or just toffee pecan. The lists goes on. The first time I tried baking an apple pie it was a diaster. I guess I should say the dough was a disaster. The top part of the pie just crumbled when I tried to put in place. In the end it was okay because the filling was delicious!
