About this Cook
I am a registered dietitian from Montreal, QC. I recently graduated from McGill University and am currently doing my Master's in Health Studies & Gerontology at the University of Waterloo. I love to cook and bake. My favourite thing is altering recipes to make them healthier, generally lower in sugar and fat and higher in fiber! I am fiber obsessed, I will add bran to anything. I also love my slow cooker :D
My favorite things to cook
I like baking, especially different variations of bran muffins. Anything with fiber, really. I also like cooking healthy things like veggies, and lean meats with pasta and stuff. As a dietitian, I love "healthifying" recipes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Holidays pretty much - huge fattening dinners around a big table. Yum.
My cooking triumphs
Making pumpkin bread for the first time and having it come out fantastic.
My cooking tragedies
I'm not too great at making pie...I can't seem to make a good crust. Just not one of my talents I guess. Maybe it's 'cause I don't like pie? One day I'll get the hang of it!

Easy Oatmeal Muffins
Great basic recipe - finally a muffin that isn't a cake!!! I didn't even use oil, subbed some unsweetened applesauce instead, and they came out moist and delicious.

Tomato-Curry Lentil Stew
This is delicious, quick, and easy! I added extra curry and a bit of dried basil. I also used an entire can of tomatoes. It came out delicious, especially for such a simple and easy recipe with so few ingredients. Can't wait 'til tomorrow for leftovers!

Favorite Banana Blueberry Quick Bread
This turned out really good! I doubled the blueberries and used butter because I had no shortening, but otherwise I kept it the same! Everybody seemed to enjoy it. My only problem was how long it took to bake, finally after about 1h15min I took it out, but the center was still a bit wet once I cut it. Oh well, I kinda like it gooey anyway!
