i'm a great grandmother who still works part time and love what i do. i travel, dine with friends, and use a pedometer daily to see how far i can walk in a day. my favorite things to do are to read and have a cup of tea or to find a little treasure at a flea market or yard sale.
My favorite things to cook
american chop suey--or anything with hamburg that's easy to cook.
My favorite family cooking traditions
my aunt would cook cranberry relish with cranberries right from her bogs.
my mom would make turtle cookies and tomato rice soup. she was a very good cook.
My cooking triumphs
making sure that the food is good enough to eat. i'm not the best cook.
My cooking tragedies
when i made rice pudding and didn't cook the rice. my son said--ma, it's good but awfully crunchy. also when i poached fish that should have been baked. it was inedible.
