Chocolate Cake Shot

LOVE this shot! It makes no sense why you have to have the lemon to make the shot taste like cake but it SO does! I could drink these all day long. :)

this is now in the top 2 of my salmon recipes. i marinated the salmon in the morning so it didnt get the full 24 hours, but it was still very good. i also cooked the salmon in my oven for 15-20 minutes at 400 degrees, per other recipe directions. i think this salmon would even be good if you didnt have time to marinade and just threw some sauce over it to cook and made the gravy to go with it. i was nervous about gravy on my fish, but it went perfectly with it. (in fact we went back for more gravy.) i had never used shiraz wine before, but i will now for sure.

Seafood Enchiladas

YUMMY!!!!!! i followed caren's review tips also and it is good! i also used immitation crab meat and topped the enchiladas with olives for garnish. everyone loved them!!!! i do think i would add a bit more spice next time and maybe a little bit less flour for the sauce. it was good, but i think a little thinner sauce would be even better.

Hot Spinach and Artichoke Dip

this dip is so-ooooo good, everyone told me it is better than the restaurants recipes. i followed directions almost exactly, with the exception of adding in romano cheese with the parmesan, i added a pinch of red pepper flakes, used "real bacon bits" instead of making my own, and i used the crock pot instead of the oven, so it would be easier for our party and stay nice and warm also. i served it with tortilla chips. also it is easy enough to make a day ahead and keep in the fridge until ready to put into the crock pot and heat. i will make this again for sure!!!!!!

T Bird's Beef Jerky

i have to say this jerky is awesome!!!! i followed directions exactly. i wasnt sure what kind of hot sauce to use, so for future reference to anyone who is afraid of heat or is wanting heat, i used some crazy a** kicking hot sauce that my hubby doesnt even like to use on foods cause it is just too hot. i put in 1 tsp as directed and it turned out perfect for me. not too spicy, just a hint of heat. i may add a couple tsp. the next time now that i know it isnt an insane amount of heat. i think if i had used something like tobasco i would have been more disappointed. also i did add a couple dashes of smoke flavoring, not too much tho. i cooked it in my food dehydrator and it is perfect. i will definitely use this recipe again!!!!!!!

French Fried Potatoes

i have to give 4 stars until i can try them again. i did soak in the sugar water but i didnt double fry them. they were pretty good, but not restaurant quality, for sure. maybe the double fry would help next time.

Chili Dog Casserole I

this was really good. i didnt use any hot dog buns, instead i used tortilla chips. i just layered the chips with the hot dog pieces, covered with 2 cans of chili and topped with cheddar cheese. served with sour cream on top. yummy!!!! hubby loved it!

Fried Mozzarella Cheese Sticks

this turned out just like the restaurants. i skipped on the flour. i added garlic powder, instead of garlic salt. also i added onion powder and italian seasoning to my garlic and herb bread crumbs. i did both single dip and double dip. single was just too thin a crust, probably because i didnt use flour. the double dipped sticks turned out perfect! no cheese leakage on the double dipped ones. my husband loved this!

Pretty Chicken Marinade

by far the best marinade ive used so far! i didnt have low sodium soy sauce, so i used regular. i added a small handful of brown sugar to help even out the salt flavor. turned out great. not salty at all. i also used a horseradish mustard. this recipe does make a good amount of marinade, but i saved it in a ziplock bag and plan on using it again today for another batch, so at least it isnt going to waste. i was worried about the large amount of smoke flavoring, since a small amount goes a long way, but it turned out very good. update: i made this again without adding brown sugar and i have to say it is still very good, but was better with the sugar. from now on i will stick to using a handful of brown sugar also.

Grilled Rock Lobster Tails

i am not surewhat i did tht everyone else didnt do. i chose this recipe because nobody had given less than 5 stars. i made it exactly as called for. it was not good at all. next time i will just stick to making crab legs. i know a good recipe for them. maybe i shouldve used that for the lobster. to me it was a waste of money.

Maple Salmon

the best salmon recipe by far! i have tried many, and liked them, but this one is soooo good. for people who dont like salmon much because of the fishy taste, this recipe will taste good to you also. i didnt use garlic salt, since it is always too salty for me. i just used regular garlic powder and 2 cloves of garlic. turned out great!!!!! new entry.... i used this for chicken also. i quadrupled the recipe, still not using garlic salt. i did add a little splash of white wine also. turned out very very good!!!!

Fantastic Lemon Butter Fillet

i would rate this a high 3 or low 4. too salty for my taste. and i like salt. i didnt use lemon pepper as others have said. i did sprinkle a little garlic pepper over the top of fish. i would try again. next time adding garlic at the end of cooking butter, or barely simmer the butter with it in. it burned the garlic, which maybe led to the salty taste, not too sure.

Savory Garlic Marinated Steaks

this is very good. i didnt have balsamic vinegar, so i used burgundy wine instead. i didnt have much time to soak the steaks, but in 2 hours i could taste how good it would be if it soaked for a day or 2. will definately try again and follow the recipe exact. update... i made it exact this time and soaked for 2 days. not as impressed. i think i prefer the burgundy wine to the vinegar. maybe 2 days is too long. not sure. i like the flavor of steak, i think this over powered it.

Grilled Fish Steaks

this turned out really good. i did think maybe a tiny bit less salt. other than that, it was perfect. i used talapia instead of hailbut and followed recipe exactly. did not bbq though, baked in oven on 350 for about 15 minutes. my husbands response was, "it tastes like a restaurant." since i never order fish in a restaurant, i had to take his word on this. he loved it, said it was the best ive made so far. this would make an awesome salmon!

Mexican Baked Fish

this was great!! the only thing i would say is to maybe season the fish first with maybe cumin and salt and pepper or something. or use a spicier salsa than you would eat regularly. i used medium, which is what i would normally eat, but in the fish it disappeared a little. the flavor was there alright, but it did need a bit more of something. i also added the chips and cheese at the last 5 minutes as others have said to do. very good meal!!!!!!!!!! we will for sure eat again. with any fish!

Garlic and Dill Salmon

this is pretty good. if you like garlic, it isnt over kill. i didnt have fresh dill so i used dried. i think i needed to use much more. i wasnt sure how much to put in. this was actually kind of bland, but with more dill it might have been better. will definately try again with more seasoning.

Grilled Teriyaki Tuna

this turned out really good. i didnt have enough terriyaki, so i added soy suace and a little bit of brown sugar to even out the saltiness. wouldve been even better with some sauce spooned over for serving. will try that next time.
