i am NOT a cake decorator by any stretch but i was so proud of this! for my baby girls 3rd birthday
mommy and her girls!! :)
Me and my oldest daughter Genevieve, who's now almost 3!
About this Cook
I'm a happily married mom of two beautiful girls, Genevieve and Aubrey. My husband will try just about anything I make (except fish!) and is always very generous with his opinions. At 2 1/2 Genevieve has a pretty picky palate but typically chicken or anything you can dip in ketchup are winners in her book.
My favorite things to cook
I really love to bake, but recently my hips have been keeping me from my hobby!! :) I enjoy lightening up recipes that I wouldn't otherwise make though. I really enjoy cooking just about anything, casseroles, soups and stews, stir-fry dishes, anything Italian or Mexican inspired, desserts of all kinds, crock pot.... just about the only things I stray from are homemade candies and the deep fryer!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Christmas cookies, Thanksgiving turkey, Christmas Eve 7 Fish Dinner....and every year on your birthday my mom would make our favorite dish, and I'm excited to carry on this tradition with my two little ones!
My cooking triumphs
My first Easter dinner which consisted of a turkey, a ham, a lasagne, and multiple side dishes and desserts. I was so busy I think I forgot to eat but everyone raved over everything and I felt so accomplished!
My cooking tragedies
Gosh there's more than I'd like to admit! They typically come from me reading something wrong, and putting in say a cup of flour instead of a tablespoon, or from me transcribing something incorrectly into my recipe book. Like the pie I made once that called for 3 3/4 cups of milk in the original recipe, but I only wrote down 3/4. Yeah, that was inedible!!

Quick and Almost-Professional Buttercream Icing
this is great! i tripled the recipe and had more than enough to frost a 2-layer 9-inch chocolate cake. i tinted it pink for my daughter's birthday cake and it looked fabulous. the flavor is excellent, very vanilla-ee :)

Angel Chicken Pasta
wonderful recipe! i've made this a few times and each time i forgot just yummy it was the time before. i usually substitute chicken broth for the wine and sometimes cream of celery for the mushroom. deeeeee-licious!
