The Best In the West! I used butter flavored Crisco and they were simply wonderful cookies. Don't overcook!

Hasty Chocolate Pudding

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2009
Made the pudding on the stove instead of the microwave with great results. Used 2% milk and added the dollop of butter at the end. Just a quick and easy pudding that tasted thick and delicious! Cheap, tasty and quick - what could be better than that?

Au Gratin Potatoes II

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2009
I made this last night for a get-together. I used Cream of Chicken soup and a little more sour cream. I was a little disappointed that the potatoes were not cooked through enough. I used a round and deep casserole dish so that could be the problem. Next time I will bake longer. I also added salt and pepper as it was too bland without it. And I crushed the corn flakes. I will keep this recipe and next time change it up using the different comments.

Chocolate Billionaires

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2008
This was my new favorite for this 2008 holiday season. I used 14 oz. bag of Kraft caramels and 1-1/4 cup Rice Krispies to perfection. Also used Non-Stick Reynolds Aluminum Foil alone on my cookie sheet and nothing stuck even remotely. Used my cookie scoop for a uniform size and got them all on one cookie sheet. I put the chocolate on the tops and sides only. This is a definite keeper for years to come. Thanks a billion!

Quick Chick!

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2008
What a wonderful autumn meal! So E-Z. I could not find any fault with the original recipe. I used a 12oz jar of turkey gravy and 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts. The extra insertions I put in just as recommended. I served it with boxed stuffing, mashed potatoes and green beans and lovely rolls. There was lotza gravy and plenty leftover for tomorrow's lunch. This is a definite keeper.

Middle Eastern Pasta With Yogurt and Pine Nuts

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2008
I have been making this recipe for over 30 years. All my five sons were raised on it and it is a family favorite to be sure. It is so delicious and refreshing! One thing we do differently is that we toast the pinenuts (in a pan on the stove) and do not add them in with the beef, instead they are sprinkled over the top of the dish. That way they have a roasted taste and stay crunchy. We also top the dish with fresh chopped Italian parsley. It really adds freshness to the taste. And we keep a bowl of plain yogurt on the table if anyone needs to refresh their dish. You can be sure that there were heaps of this delicious entree piled high on my boy's plates.

Best Ever Pie Crust

This was the recipe that my Mother taught me, and I have taught my daughter-in-law. Perfect everytime! I use Butter-Flavored Crisco rather than plain as it gives a nice flaky crust with a rich taste.

Home Style Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: May 3, 2007
A fantastic and E-Z Mac & Cheese! First I read all the comments from other cooks and then made my own changes, read on. (1) I cooked double the amount of macaroni (16 oz.) as there was just too much sauce for such a small amount of the pasta. (2) I cooked the flour mixture longer than suggested to make sure that the flour taste was totally cooked out. (3) I added an extra big cup of sharp cheddar cheese. Other than that, I follwed the recipe instructions exactly as originally written. (I have five big sons and they wolfed it down!)

Double Nut Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2006
E-Z and good looking, that about sums up these cookies. Funny enough I had bits and pieces of nuts to use up in my cupboard and this recipe helped me do it. Next time I would add a teaspoon of vanilla. These lacked a little punch for me, but still they got gobbled up in no time. I'll keep this beautie!

Pumpkin Spice Cookie

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2006
Wowee, we have a winner here! These were sooo E-Z and the results were awesome. I used my cookie scoop to portion out the dough, but found that I had to flatten each with the tines of my fork, like we do for peanut butter cookies. I also frosted them with Cream Cheese Frosting II from AllRecipes, my favorite! Next time I will add chocolate chips &/or walnuts. This is a versatile and simple recipe that will get me out of a jam when I need something to serve or take - Real Quick. My son said it the best, "Mom, these are BETTER than delicious!"

Saltine Toffee Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2005
I needed to take cookies to a COOKIE EXCHANGE that we were having with our office staff today. I saw these cookies, the reviews were great and they seemed novel and very fun to try. Well, to make a long story short, I made them WITHOUT the saltines. FIRST, I mixed 5 cups of miscellaneous ingredients -- Cherrios, Rice Chex, Pretzels, Raisins, Mixed Nuts, and Coconut spread out in a shallow layer on my cookie sheet. Then I proceeded exactly the way the rest of the recipe said. They were absolutely fantastic and everyone gobbled them down. A little salty and a little sweet. This would be a perfect basic recipe to use up all the bits and pieces of ingredients that you have in the cupboard. Tastes different each time! So all in all this recipe is a keeper. It is yummy and versatile at the same time.

Blueberry Pie

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2005
I should have tried this blueberry pie recipe as it was at first written, THEN made adjustments the second time around. I read all the comments thoroughly, made all the adjustments that seemed right, and I got a blueberry 'rubber' pie. Another thing I was wondering is if the altitude makes any difference because I am very high. The pie was certainly not uneatable, just not as lovely as I had hoped. I'll give it another try and maybe be back to give a 5* review for this recipe. ~Happy Baking Everyone!~
