Cake Mixes from Scratch and Variations
I tried the chocolate..it was a lot more dense than I was hoping. Not like a cake mix. The recipe on the back of the cocoa box is much more 'cake mix-like', which is what I ended up using instead after trying a few others. :]

Special Buttercream Frosting
This frosting is delicious as-is. It's easy to make and spread. Great for decorating and the flavor is great. Reminds me of the kind of frosting from a bakery birthday cake. :]
