About this Cook
I usually have to follow recipes closely. I am worried that if I do not, then I may mess up the taste.
My favorite things to cook
Meat... everyday. I like to cook chicken, pork, and fish. I do not bake goodies, and I do not cook beef. I always look at the amount of protein compared to carbohydrates..... I strive to cook high protein foods. My family needs to work on eating healthy foods to live a healthier life. My goal is to incorporate more vegetables into our diet.
My cooking triumphs
I feel good when I try a new recipe and my family likes it. If my husband compliments it, and if my daughter eats it, I am very happy. I feel like my time was worth it.
My cooking tragedies
When I first started to cook, I had no idea what I was doing. I made eggs and chorizo (mexican sausage) for my husband. He was trying to eat it when he asked, "Did you take the plastic off the chorizo?" I said, "What plastic?" Geez, I have learned a lot more since then.

Spinach Brownies
Absolutely overpowering flavor.. too much salt or butter.. i don't what was responsible for the after taste. no one liked it. i have never rated a recipe so low. i will never ever make something similar to this. turned me off to all spinach bars. too bad since we love spinach.

Applesauce Salad
i thought it was delicious. My family did not eat it because they are not a big fan of cinnamon. I will not make it to eat at home.. but i may make it to take to a party. it is different. great for cinnamon lovers.

Banana Nut Bread Baked in a Jar
Maybe I am being too critical.. I thought the bread left a bitter aftertaste. I will use the extreme banana bread recipe on this site inside the jars next time. I am going to have my spouse test it in the morning.. if he thinks it tastes good... i will give them away. If he agrees with me, I will throw it all away. I will not use this recipe next time. I will use the canning method with another recipe next time. plus, they only rose 2/3 of the way up.
