I am now retired, and spend most days cooking, looking for new recipes, or watching Food Network TV. Love to make easy, but refreshing desserts. I usually surprise neighbors & friends with a little "pick me up" dessert (cheesecake, or cookies), if I know they're going through a rough patch at home or work. I love having the grandkids in to make and decorate cupcakes for their class, depending on the holiday. I bake, they decorate, and everbody is a hero!! Impressing my in-laws with a dinner from recipes I found on here. I'm such a snob, I usually look for 5 star reviews, and recipes that haven't changed much from the original. Tried to make Paula Deens coconut log cookies, as gifts for Christmas. Don't know what I did wrong, she made it look so easy. Thought I had it down pat, but they were a disaster!! Had to throw them all out, and resort to an old standby,(while I was still crying about the old ones!)
