The first time I ever cooked was when I made Jello for the first time- I was three! My mom was home from work and was sick, so I figured it out, and it worked. I have been smitten with cooking ever since.
My favorite things to cook
I love Italian food- my lasagna, chicken parmesan, and pasta carbonara are all fantastic. I also love making mashed potatoes- they are probably my favorite food. There is nothing better than a grilled T-Bone with big pile of mashed potatoes. Oh, and my cookies are the best- my specialty is chocolate chip oatmeal and gingersnaps. Obviously, I like classic foods, but I will try just about anything. Finally, Chicken Etouffee is one of my best.
My cooking triumphs
I am happy to announce that I have mastered the apple pie! I can make my own crust that is flaky and delicious. Also, I have finally made some great fried chicken. And of course, my lasagna is the best. And, my Chicken Etouffee and Coq Au Vin are wonderful.
My cooking tragedies
Lemon cake- I added granulated sugar instead of powdered sugar to the frosting. BAD IDEA! I tend to have bad luck with cakes- I made a delicous Sour Cream Fudge Cake with Chocolate Satin Frosting, but it fell apart and looked awful. It still tasted wonderful, though.
