Ricotta Gnocchi

Reviewed: Jul. 3, 2011
I followed this recipe to the "t" and it was a disaster. Dense, chewy and tasteless. I've made gnocchi before and it was light and fluffy - this one was not. Sorry for the poor review, I just felt I had to share - wasted money on good ingredients.

No Name Orange Roughy

Yummy! I followed the recipe, but...didn't use the olives, instead, added lemon zest and capers. Served over white rice. Will definitely add to my recipe box. Thanks so much!!!

Brownie Chocolate Chip Cheesecake

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2008
This recipe was very good. I used a dark chocolate brownie mix, yummy. The "cheesecake" component was very creamy and flavorful. I will not add the chocolate chips next time. Even though I coated them in flour, they still "sunk" to the bottom of the cream cheese "layer". So there was a top layer of cheesecake, a middle layer of choc chips and a base layer of brownie. Truly too much chocolate - and I didn't think there was such a thing!!! Will use again. Thanks!

Chocolate Covered Cherries

Very pretty and very time consuming. Mine did not liquify - fondant stayed solid. I think they would be better if it would have turned to liquid. Taste was great and made everyone think I was a super-cook. Thanks!

Cranberry Nut Bread I

Very good bread recipe. Nice and moist. The orange zest made the flavor! I only sliced my cranberries in half...we like the burst of tart cranberry flavor. Thanks for a keeper!

Chocolate Mousse Cake II

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2006
FAB!!! Definitely must let sit for 2days in order to set up correctly!!! Followed the recipe exactly and it turned out wonderful...just like a terrific choc mousse cake from a fancy restaurant!!! As a short side note, when I first removed the base layer cake from the oven, I thought....oooooohhh not good. But in the end, it is 'just right' after the mousse sits on it for a couple of days. Happy baking!!!

Bread Pudding II

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2006
WOW!!! I made a double batch in a 9x13 pan and used the Pannetone bread I bought for the holiday!!! Following other 'advice' I used 1 cup sugar and 1 cup brown sugar (remember this was a double recipe) and sprinkled just a few raisins (since there were currants and orange chunks in the pannetone). I also added a handful of tollhouse choc chips for an added flare (it is the holidays, you know). Wonderful recipe!!!!!!! Happy Holidays to everyone!!!

Dad's Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2005
These cookies were good, but not what I was looking for. I think they should change the name to Oatmeal Spice cookies. Certainly not the traditional oatmeal cookie. Easy to make, but be sure to note in the instructions where you have to wait two hours after you have prepared the dough to actually bake.....can be a big inconvenience.

This was wonderful!! I made for a get-together. Used sunflower seeds rather than sesame seeds..yum! I doubled the dressing but will not do this again. Followed everyone's advice and added 'crunchies' at the last minute!! FABULOUS!!
