My husband thinks I'm a good cook, so I put intermediate, but honestly, I believe I am just above beginner level. Sometimes things work. Sometimes they don't.
My favorite things to cook
stir-fry, curry, pies are the things I do best but I love anything that is tasty, healthy, and easy. I also like a good meatloaf every once in a while.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Even though I am American of German/English descent, my family traditions are centered around Asian and Indian cooking. I love spicy food with exotic flavors.
My cooking triumphs
I make great pies. At my husband's family reunions, they hardly even say "hello" before they ask if I brought the pies. I make my own crust from scratch, and the pie never goes to waste. So I guess I am finally convinced that they are not just being nice.
My cooking tragedies
Some days I am just too tired to cook, and I can't always get the right ingredients where I live. I wish I was the creative kind who could whip up something from what I find in the cupboards. Maybe it's just a matter of trying, and to become more creative with what I have should be my goal this year - a good resolution.
