Easy Indian Butter Chicken

LOVE it! I did the lower fat version and it was delicious. It satisified my need for butter chicken! I did, however, curdle my milk. But that wasn't the recipe's fault. I was cooking in an electric skillet and it's hard to control the temperature as well.

Tuna Noodle Casserole II

Good. Nice flavor and very economical. Mine was a little soupy, but I used spaghetti pasta instead of the recommended pasta...that could be why.

Penne with Garlicky Broccolini

I am going to give this a 4 because I think if I would have used bacon, it would have been a 4. Using olive oil I give it a 3. It was very bland, I even added tomatoes, TONS of salt, and italian seasoning. It was just missing something (very likely the bacon!). But I just hate to cook bacon, so I will tweak this until I am happy.

Soft Oatmeal Cookies

These were great! We prefer our cookies soft and chewy. I tossed in some raisins and some toffee chips I had lying around. I appreciated the tips about leaving them on the pan and squashing them with a fork.

Garlic-Herb Mashed Potatoes

We don't give very many 5's but this was fabulous. It was SO EASY and had a wonderful flavor. I doubled the garlic, but I am a garlic fiend. I will make these again soon!

this was very dry and had a strange flavor to it. my dh did not care for the anise in the 5 spice powder. I think next time I will find a teryaki garlic sauce.

German Lentil Soup

This is actually a retraction of my other review that wasn't so favorable. I had to let the soup sit in the fridge for a day or two before eating it (crazy weekend) but when we ate it it was GREAT. Maybe this is one of those recipes that needs to rest for the flavors to be at their best. I think if I make this again I will make it the night before and let it rest all day.

Sparkling Fruit Salad

I am giving this 5 stars because it is the only fruit salad that I have ever made where I didnt worry about yucky brown fruit in my salad. I dont think that the juice/soda mix made much impact on the recipe.

Okra, Chicken and Rice Casserole

Pretty good. It was a nice change in vegetable. Mine did come out a tad slimey, but I think that's just the nature of okra. I added some salt and I think next time I make it I will add seasoned salt and chopped green chiles to it.

This was good. I was in a hurry so I just made loaves of bread. That worked just fine. I also omitted the salt and baking soda and just used self rising flour that I had lying around.

Ali's Amazing Bruschetta

This was bitter and soupy and I had to add all kinds of things to make it taste OK ( 1/2c.sugar, garlic, and an herb mix I use for bread dipping) . Someone said that this is a good starting point for bruschetta, I would agree if tomatoes and onions are a start. I hardly ever rate things poorly, but this was pretty yucky.

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

I have to add to the applause. I really loved this pie. I was a little scared because of the method, but it turned out beautifully. I cheated and used frozen crust, but I think this is a pie that I would learn to make a real pir crust for.

Too Much Chocolate Cake

This was ridiculously easy. Even one of my pals who doesnt care for chocolate loved it. We served it with cherry chocolate ice cream. My husband called it chocolatey delicious.

Good. Forgot to premake and chill the rice. That probably makes it more flavorful. I added a dash of ground ginger at the end plus a little extra soy sauce.

Restaurant Style Egg Drop Soup

Good flavor. Pretty easy. My sister commented that it wasn't as salty as traditional egg drop soup. I didn't have chicken broth, so I used water and chicken boulion instead.
